Pokémon Pokopia DLC Announced for August

At a Nintendo Direct, new DLC titled Bubbly Basin has been announced for Pokémon Pokopia, releasing in August 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2. A free new update was also announced, also available in August.

Bubbly Basin will be the first of three parts of a paid expansion pack, which can be pre-ordered now. Both the first and third parts will introduce new towns to the game. The new trailer can be seen here, showing new content and the underwater town headed to Pokopia:

By purchasing the expansion pass, players can also gain access to 30 Rare Pokémetal (delivered by email code, as long as the pass is purchased by August 31 2027) the Dynamic Ditto print recipe. This code will be sent to the email address registered to the player’s Nintendo Account and can be redeemed via the Mystery Gifts feature in-game. The expansion pass, available now, costs $30.

Pokémon Pokopia is available now on Nintendo Switch 2 for $69.99 digitally and physically as a Game-Key Card title. The Game Freak and Koei Tecmo-developed title reached reached 2.2 million copies sold in the first four days of release. Final Weapon reviewed Pokémon Pokopia and awarded it a 4.5/5 score, noting that the game “shattered expectations” and engrosses players in its various systems. 

Lastly, Final Weapon’s review summary reads, “Pokémon Pokopia has shattered pretty much all the expectations I had of this game, and it deserves every praise it can get. This is precisely the type of game that, even if you boot it up for just a few short minutes, I guarantee you there will always be something that can be done, and before you notice, it’s been half an hour, and you’re still engrossed in it.”

Shueisha Games and Vampire Survivors developer poncle have announced JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON, a new “8-player survivors royale” game. JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON will launch in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Gege Akutami’s original Jujutsu Kaisen manga is a complete work with over 150 million copies in circulation. The Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga by Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki began as a short-term serialization in September 2025. All 25 chapters can be read at VIZ Media and Manga Plus.

Nintendo has announced Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a Nintendo Switch 2 remake of Wii Sports Resort, which will release on October 22. It will include 12 sports in total.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Releases on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 9

Capcom announced that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. This version will be called Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, an expanded version of the original with a new region, classes, and more.

UPDATE: Capcom has announced that Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will also release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam for $49.99. Additionally, for those who already own the game, a Dark Arisen expansion will release on the same date for $30. In the lead-up to the release, an update is available today which makes fast travel more accessible with the addition of the reusable Eternal Ferrystone alongside other quality-of-life adjustments for various parts of gameplay. Another update will release at the end of August, which will bring improved frame rates, additional save slots, and further refinements to the quality-of-life adjustments made in June.

Lastly, a press release outlines what players can expect from Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen:

The Dark Arisen Expansion summons the Arisen to the long-abandoned Northern region of Norgan, where they must join forces with the enigmatic Eir to unravel the secrets of the undying Fallen Dragon. Throughout their journey, the Arisen must unearth and appraise forgotten relics to unlock powerful new weapons and skills. The expansion also introduces 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges. These freshly uncovered dungeons house trials designed by the Pathfinder to sharpen the Arisen’s skills and recover rare equipment once held by past Arisen that now lay dormant. Arisen looking to tailor their appearance will also gain access to new options added to the robust Character Creator, including new hairstyles and tattoos.

Capcom has announced that Devil May Cry 5 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 as Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition on June 23. Pre-orders for Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition open today in the Nintendo eShop.

In the meantime, fans can check out Devil May Cry Season 2, exclusively on Netflix. Devil May Cry Season 3 is also in the works.

The Devil May Cry animated series premiered on April 3, 2025. Limp Bizkit’s “Rollin'” is the opening theme song. Studio Mir and Adi Shankar produced the eight-episode first season, and the series will have multiple seasons.

The Japanese cast for the Devil May Cry anime includes Toshiyuki Morikawa as Dante, Fumiko Orikasa as Lady, and Hiroaki Hirata as Vergil. The English cast is as follows:

  • Scout Taylor-Compton as Lady
  • Hoon Lee as White Rabbit

The upcoming release will include the Overture DLC by default. The game is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Mac via App Store. Additionally, the Switch 2 release will cost $70. A exclusive iam8bit version will release, which includes an exclusive O-Sleeve and 6 Boss Lore Cards. Last year, NEOWIZ released the Lies of P: Overture DLC. In January 2026, the New York Game Awards gave the game the award of “Best DLC” for 2025. Final Weapon reviewed the DLC, giving it a 4/5. We described it as an expansion that “largely retains the quality of the base game, if not improving upon it in some aspects. While it isn’t particularly experimental, it is more Lies of P, and it proves why that isn’t a bad thing in the slightest.”

Nintendo has released a new gameplay overview trailer for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, which reveals it will release on September 17. It’s available to wishlist now on the Nintendo eShop. 

The new trailer for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave shows off the four main characters. At the beginning, you pick one of the four main characters to play as. Each character has their own unique stories, quests, and techniques in combat. There’s Cai, the kindhearted boy from Ribeira Village, Dietrich the “elegant battle-ready swordsman,” Theodora the “Queen of Saramis Kingdom,” and Leda the “musician out for revenge.”

The trailer also shows off a new look at Sothis, returning from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and teases some of the many characters that you can interact with along your journey. Upon release, a collector’s “Dagdan Edition” will release. This will include art cards, a map of Dagda, an artbook, and a steelbook. Orbitals Launches September 3 for Switch 2

Publisher Kepler Interactive and developer Shapefarm have announced that Orbitals, Shapefarm’s new retro anime-themed intergalactic 2-player co-op adventure game, will launch on September 3 for Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders for Orbitals open later today in the Nintendo eShop.

An Orbitals Deluxe Edition will be available featuring new skins for Maki and Omura, two new ship skins, the digital soundtrack, and a digital artbook. Players who own the Standard Edition can also purchase the Deluxe Upgrade Pack to get the Deluxe Edition’s contents.

Stellar Blade is Coming to Switch 2 in 2026

SHIFT UP has announced that character-driven action game Stellar Blade is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. A new trailer for the Switch 2 version of Stellar Blade was also released, and Joy-Con 2 motion controls were confirmed.

Stellar Blade is already available now for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. A Complete Edition is also available featuring the digital game, Twin Expansion Pack featuring the NieR: Automata DLC and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE DLC, a Goddess of Victory: NIKKE CD-key for a Stellar Blade costume in the mobile game, Fluffy Bear Pack drone cosmetics, and Planet Diving Suit (Captain) for Eve. 

In addition, SHIFT UP recently announced Stellar Blade: BLOOD RAIN, the long-awaited sequel to Stellar Blade. The story of the franchise will continue past the events of the original Stellar Blade with Evie, the protagonist of Stellar Blade: BLOOD RAIN.

Previously, SHIFT UP confirmed that it would reveal new information about the Stellar Blade sequel and new Project Spirits action RPG in 2026, which will both launch in 2027. The Stellar Blade sequel and new games from UNBOUND, the subsidiary studio led by Shinji Mikami, will be self-published by SHIFT UP. 

According to SHIFT UP, its “new title cycle” is ramping up with a “reinforced intellectual property lineup and business capabilities.” There are multiple PC and console development pipelines that were added with its UNBOUND acquisition, all of which include first-party games. The company also notes that Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is setting “high expectations” toward its fourth anniversary.

Rhythm Heaven Groove Releases New Gameplay Trailer

Nintendo has released a new gameplay trailer for Rhythm Heaven Groove, which will launch on July 2 for Nintendo Switch. The trailer showcases more of the minigames that will be available in the game. 

The new trailer shows off some of the many rhythm games that will be present in the upcoming release. Some of the modes including an RPG mode where you can cast spells in time to the beat. There are also minigames where you can play with up to four players in cooperative rhythm-based experiences. There are over 80 total minigames and 30 co-op based minigames. The game is also playable on Nintendo Switch 2, though no Nintendo Switch 2 edition has been confirmed. Check out the latest gameplay trailer for Rhythm Heaven Groove below:
