    Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Anime Movie Trilogy Premieres in 2025

    Crunchyroll, Aniplex, and ufotable announced that the first film in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle trilogy will premiere in 2025 in theaters. It will adapt the final arc of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga series onto the big screen.

    Haruo Sotozaki returns as director of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, along with character designer and chief animation director Akira Matsushima at studio ufotable. An exact premiere date for the new film is unknown.

    Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba recently made its long-awaited return on May 12, 2024, marking the beginning of preparations against Muzan Kibutsuji. The fourth season adapted the “Hashira Training Arc.”

    Square Enix Announces New Play Arts Shin Line of Figures, Starting With a Vincent Valentine Figure

    Square Enix has just announced that they will be releasing a new line of figures. This new lineup is titled the PLAY ARTS 真 in Japanese, which is read as Play Arts Shin. They’re described as an improvement over the current PLAY ARTS KAI series of figures.

    Play Arts Shin figures feature new hip and joint parts, allowing for a smoother and wider range of motion. For the first character in this series, Square Enix will be releasing Vincent Valentine’s figure. The figure is scheduled to be released on August 30th, 2025, and is currently available for pre-order via the Japanese Square Enix eStore, costing ¥23,100.

    For this figure in specific, Vincent’s cape is made of actual fabric, and his red eyes, which can be moved, the gauntlets on the left arm, metallic boots, and other features of his characteristic appearance that were made more elaborate in Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth have all been carefully reproduced in this figure. Included in the box is also his iconic gun and various interchangeable hands, allowing you to recreate various scenes from the game.

    Pokémon UNITE is a MOBA based in the world of Pokémon. The free-to-play game features a cast of exciting Pokémon, cross-platform play, and cosmetics for each Pokémon. Recently, the game added Blaziken, Mimikyu, Meowscarada, and Magikarp to the roster. Pokémon UNITE will likely add more characters in the coming months.

    The staff for the upcoming Doraemon 2025 film have released a new trailer. The movie is titled Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Esekai Monogatari (The Tale of Nobita’s Picture World).     The film’s follows Doraemon, Nobita, and friends, who all enter a painting depicting a medieval European world. After entering the painting, the group meets Claire and Milo, children from the country of Artoria. In addition, they meet a small demon named Chai and face an enemy for a legendary jewel.

    Apple Vision Pro Compatibility With PlayStation VR2 Controllers In Development

    A report from Bloomberg has revealed that the Apple Vision Pro will soon be compatible with the PlayStation VR2 controllers.

    According to The Verge, “Under this rumored partnership, Apple would begin selling Sony’s controllers, which aren’t currently available on their own. Sony has apparently been working on adding the support for months, while Apple has asked third-party developers if they would take advantage of Sony’s VR controllers.”

    Additionally, Sony is reportedly working on a portable PS5 console that will rival Microsoft’s new Xbox gaming handheld and Nintendo Switch and its successor. The new portable PS5 is years away from launch, and Sony may decide against releasing it, however.

    Reports also suggest that Sony is looking to buy the massive Japanese entertainment conglomerate, Kadokawa. Kadokawa is known for several anime franchises such as Bungo Stray Dogs, The Rising of the Shield Hero, Date A Live, and countless others. The company also owns some video game companies, namely Armored Core and Elden Ring developer From Software.

    Sony Interactive Entertainment also opened a new PlayStation history website to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the brand, which began with the release of the original PlayStation in December 1994. The website also revealed that the PlayStation 2 sold a total of 160 million units.

    Both Sony and Apple will likely reveal more details about the collaboration with the PlayStation VR2 and Apple Vision Pro in the coming weeks and months. Recently, Sony and IOI announced that Hitman: World of Assassination would be coming to PlayStation VR2 in 2025.

    Tekken 8 Confirms Next DLC Character Reveal for The Game Awards 2024

    Bandai Namco announced that the next DLC character for Tekken 8 will be revealed at The Game Awards 2024 on December 12 at 4:30 p.m. PST. In the trailer that was shown, there appears to be a rose flower and kiss symbol that rests upon a helicopter, shooting at Nina Williams. This has fans speculating that the next DLC character could be Anna Williams. 

    Additionally, the trailer showcased what the upcoming winter and spring updates will bring to the game. The Winter update will feature a new photo mode, customization features, a special 30th Anniversary Fight Pass, and more. Moreover, the spring update promises the start of Tekken 8 Season 2, major system and balance updates, new moves for all characters, and a bigger Tekken World Tour.

    Recently, Tekken 8 released the patch notes for the previous update 1.09.00 on the Bandai Namco website. This new update included adjustments to some of the casts’s moves, online modes, some bug fixes, and new items to the TEKKEN SHOP. 

    To talk specifically about this update, the TEKKEN SHOP provided more item sets for customization. There’s also a new Heihachi and Harada avatar in the TEKKEN FIGHT LOUNGE. Moreover, if a match was not established with a found opponent, the search range no longer widens.

    Sverkite is the key item you need to build Adol and Karja’s ultimate weapons and gear in Ys X: Nordics and fortunately, it’s not difficult to find! You will need to make substantial progress in the game first, however.

    In order to obtain Sverkite, you will need to make enough progress in Ys X: Nordics and reach the Raoul Dark Sea. From there, you can begin your first steps toward finding and obtaining all four Sverkite in your playthrough. These Sverkite will be put to good use in Chapter 10, since Adol and Karja can finally obtain their ultimate weapons then.

    Note: To forge ultimate weapons, you will need the penultimate weapons in Chapter 10. Adol’s weapon, Heimskringla, is obtained through normal progression, while Karja’s weapon, Himinglaeva, is obtained from the Axe to Regrind side quest on Giant’s Hand Isle in the Rogue Sea. 

    Ys X: Nordics – Sverkite Locations and How to Use It

    You can obtain a max of four Sverkite by Chapter 10, since some of the requirements are locked behind story progression, including access to the Rogue Sea. In addition, you will need to catch all Ancient fishes in Ys X: Nordics, as one of the Sverkite is given as a reward from the Rambunctious Penguin in the Raoul Dark Sea. 

    Here’s where you can get the Sverkite:

    1. Catch all Ancient fishes and feed them to the Rambunctious Penguin in the Raoul Dark Sea
    2. S rank reward for completing the Southeastern Fortress Recapture mission in the Rogue Sea
    3. One Sverkite can be purchased for 177,900 gold or 59,300 mana crystals at Anika’s Goods merchant ship in the Rogue Sea
    4. Accept and complete the Rushed Off Their Fleet side quest on Mynorca Village in Chapter 10. 

    After obtaining the Heimskringla and Himinglaeva, you will be able to upgrade these weapons at the weapon smith to forge Shining Sword Heimskringla and Exquisite Axe Himinglaeva, respectively. You will have two Sverkite left over to create the best armor possible for both Adol and Karja as well. Feel free to use these Sverkite before facing Ys X: Nordics’ secret boss and the final story boss!

    Lastly, Ys X: Nordics is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam worldwide.

    Where Winds Meet Releasing in China by the End of 2024

    Developer Everstone Studio announced Where Winds Meet will launch on December 27, 2024 for PC in China. The Android and iOS versions will release around the Chinese New Year, so close to January 29, 2025.

    The game is planned to release globally for PlayStation 5 and PC. Fans can wishlist the game right now in the PlayStation Store

    Everstone, the developers of Ten Kingdoms, initially announced Where Winds Meet in August 2022. In Where Winds Meet, players will embark on a journey as a mysterious swordsman navigating throughout China during the Northern Song Dynasty. Various decisions must be made by the swordsman to determine his role in the ongoing conflict. The protagonist has several roles to choose from such as doctor, merchant, or wanderer.

    Tokyo Xtreme Racer Reveals Teaser Visual and New Details

    Genki revealed a new promotional visual for the Tokyo Xtreme Racer game, along with some new details about the game’s content. Players can expect the return of SP Battle, one of the series’ signature features, when the game launches in 2025 for PC via Steam.

    In SP Battle, Tokyo Xtreme Racer players earn Spirit Points based on the driving performance exhibited during the race. It is a metric that “quantifies the willpower of drivers.” 

    The Tokyo Expressway has been faithfully reproduced as the staple track of the series. The complex twists and elevation changes can be a challenge, but adapting can bring some adrenaline-filled racing experiences.

    Countless rivals from past titles will appear in the new entry. The race begins with a headlight flash, signifying an on-track battle against rivals with distinctive cars and driving styles. Challengers also lurk in the parking areas, too.

    The Tokyo Xtreme Racer series, known as Shutoko Battle in Japan, began in 1994 with Shutoko Battle ’94 for the Super Famicom. In 1999, a sequel was released for the Dreamcast.     Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact Will Be Playable at Jump Festa 2025

    Jump Festa 2025 will feature a trial version of Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact. The event will take place from December 21 to 22, 2024, at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

    Additionally, Jump Festa 2025 attendees can see character panel displays and win special badges for trying out Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact. Players who experience the demo will receive a GaraPon exchange ticket that can be used to win these special badges. The exchange ticket can be used at the GaraPon corner in the Bushiroad booth on the day of the event. 

    The following characters are playable at this booth:

    • Hisoka

    Previously, Arc System Works released a notice to confirm that Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact has been delayed to 2025 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The developers for Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact noted that the game was delayed in order to implement rollback netcode. There were plans to release the game with delay based netcode, but the developers decided to use rollback to ensure smooth online matches.

    Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact will launch with 16 characters. Eighting, the developers of DNF Duel and Marvel vs Capcom 3, are lending their expertise in the genre for this new game. Their other titles include the series of Naruto: Clash of NinjaBleach: Heat the Soul, and Tatsunoko vs Capcom

    Hunter x Hunter Manga Hiatus

    Lastly, in Weekly Shonen Jump, a notice for the Hunter x Hunter manga series confirms that it will go on an indefinite hiatus after the release of chapter 410. The indefinite hiatus for Hunter x Hunter is likely due to the health of manga creator Yoshihiro Togashi. On November 28, Togashi stated that he has recently undergone surgery and was recovering. He has also drafted two new chapters of the series’ manga, which was likely chapters 409 and 410 at that time.
