Fishing continues to be a staple side activity in Falcom RPGs, with Ys X: Nordics being the latest Ys title from the beloved studio. Adol and Karja gain their fishing rods very early on in the story, and you will be able to get various rewards for doing so.
The fishing minigame is rather simple, as Adol and Karja simply need to head toward a circular ripple in a body of water and begin fishing with bait. Before deploying some bait, a small indicator will show which bait you should use in order to catch a new fish. Repeat this process at the many islands you visit and you should be able to catch all fish in Ys X: Nordics within Chapter 10.

You can turn in all of these fish into the Reticent Penguin, who’s located in the southern end of the Ozmid Expanse. A reward is given for turning in all small, medium, and large fish, respectively. You can also report fishing results to Joel at the Sandras to earn rewards like armor, recipes, and more.

- Megalofang – After catching all of the previous ancient fish, head to the endgame area in Viewpoint Isle in Chapter 10. Then, use Mana Ride to skate across the water to the other side of the massive tree and reach a small piece of land with a runestone. The final fishing spot is located just across from the runestone.
Ancient fish may be given to the Rambunctious Penguin in the Raoul Darksea for an additional reward.
