At Summer Game Fest 2026, Bandai Namco announced Gundam Rogue Orbit, a new title in the long running mecha series. Gundam Rogue Orbit is slated for a 2027 release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam with wishlisting now available.

Remedy Entertainment has released a new trailer for Control Resonant, titled “Paranatural Manhattan,” which focuses on the game’s visuals. It will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 24.

Paramount Games has announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, a new action game currently in development at PlatinumGames (Ninja Gaiden 4, NieR: Automata, Bayonetta series). A release date for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin was not announced at the time of this writing.

The official game adaptation of TMNT: The Last Ronin was announced by the senior vice president for games at Paramount Global, Doug Rosen. Rosen hinted that the game would be an action RPG akin to the recent God of War games. At the time, the game was confirmed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

IDW Comics initially published TMNT: The Last Ronin in October 2020, and a hardcover collection of the series was released in late 2022. The series features a dark take on the story and future of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Studio MDHR Announces Two New Cuphead Games

During Summer Game Fest, Studio MDHR announced not one but two new Cuphead games. One game is a new hand-animated adventure still in early development. The other game is an 8-bit platformer called Mighty Cuphead Adventure. Check out the announcement and teaser below:

Mighty Cuphead Adventure is designed with the specs and limitations of the Sega Master System in mind. Programmed in classic assembly language, the game will even have a physical cartridge compatible with the Sega Master System while also releasing on modern consoles and PC. Studio MDHR is known for Cuphead and its DLC, The Delicious Last Course.

Stranger Than Heaven Launches January 15, 2027 with Tupac Shakur Cameo

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced that Stranger Than Heaven will launch on January 15, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and the game will be available day one with Xbox Game Pass. With the approval of the Tupac Shakur estate, Amaru Entertainment the late rap legend’s likeness will appear in Stranger Than Heaven, according to Snopp Dogg. 

RGG Studio is treating Tupac Shakur’s integration with the utmost respect, crafting every aspect of the collaboration without the use of AI. This is possible due to the use of archival footage and photographs, which are instrumental in his character design.

Takaya Kuroda, the voice of Kazuma Kiryu, will also appear in the game’s main cast alongside Takashi Ukaji, Yasukaze Motomiya, Takaya Kuroda, and Kohei Tsuji (Nippon no Shacho).

The hype for the new game is evident, as the “Xbox Presents: A Special Look at Stranger Than Heaven” stream quickly became one of Xbox’s most viewed streams of all time on YouTube.

The story of Stranger Than Heaven stars Makoto Daito (VA: Yu Shirota), a young Japanese-American boy from San Francisco who searches for a better life by heading to a ship bound for Japan. After being caught by Orpheus (VA: Snoop Dogg), Makoto heads to Japan and becoming his sidekick, allowing him to learn the tools of the underworld trades. Makoto is joined by an older boy named Yu Shinjo (VA: Dean Fujioka), who is an ambitious and contentious fellow who forms a bond with Makoto.

Stranger Than Heaven takes place over five stages or acts in the following cities:

  • Kokura, Fukuoka (1915)
  • Kure, Hiroshima (1929)
  • Minami, Osaka – (1943)
  • Atami, Shizuoka – (1951)
  • Kamurocho, Shinjuku – (1965)

As a showman, Makoto can hone into various sounds and tunes on the streets to gain inspiration for original compositions. He can handle his promotion and manage performances, and he’s assisted by Takashi, who is voiced by Satoshi Fujihara from Official Hige Dandism. Tori Kelly is also part of the cast as Suzy, and she performs the theme song alongside singer-songwriter Ado, Fujihara, and Snoop Dogg.

Stranger Than Heaven features a new combat system where players can perform attacks with the triggers and bumper buttons, each of which are tied to Makoto’s left arm, right arm, left leg, and right leg, respectively. There’s a visceral feel to combat that places emphasize on Makoto’s hard strikes, which can be charged and unleashed on opponents.

Capcom has announced a remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica, titled Resident Evil Veronica. It will release in 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Resident Evil Code Veronica will feature Claire Redfield in a starring role. The first trailer teases some of the locations that will be present in the remake, as well as the zombies that Claire Redfield must take on along the way. Check out the first trailer for Resident Evil Veronica below:

The most recent entry in the series, Resident Evil Requiem, is available now for PlayStation 5Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The Deluxe Edition is available with the Standard Edition ($69.99), a pack of five costumes, four weapon skins, two screen filters, two weapon charms, and much more. A Premium Steelbook Edition ($89.99) was also revealed featuring the full game, Deluxe Edition contents, and a limited-edition lenticular card.

Following the game’s launch, Capcom released a new update for Resident Evil Requiem featuring the Leon Must Die Forever mode. Leon Must Die Forever is described as “an extra game mode that is unlocked after players complete the main story and comes packed with the nonstop combat action that players know and love from legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy. Fight your way through areas you’ve visited previously throughout the game and defeat the final boss, all with stronger enemy variants, five increasingly difficulty ranks, and a race against the clock! Fill your enhancement gauge by defeating enemies in order to unlock Leon’s ‘enhancer abilities’ exclusive to this game mode.”

NetEase Games Releases Blood Message ‘Hold Till Dawn’ Trailer at Summer Game Fest 2026

NetEase Games and 24 Entertainment have released the “Hold Till Dawn” trailer for Blood Message, a new cinematic single-player story-driven action game in development for PC and consoles. Powered by Unreal Engine 5 and proprietary technology from the development studio, Blood Message is NetEase Games first “AAA” single-player action-adventure game. The trailer brings some insight into the combat mechanics of the Blood Message while offering a sneak peek into the game’s backstory.

Alien: Isolation 2 Unveiled for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC

20th Century Games, Creative Assembly and SEGA have unveiled Alien: Isolation 2, which is in development for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A release date for Alien: Isolation 2 was not announced at the time of this writing.

The next chapter in the Alien: Isolation series, Alien: Isolation 2 will bring players face-to-face once more with cinema’s deadliest killer: Alien’s Xenomorph. With a brand-new setting, story and protagonist, players will embrace a whole new adventure, while experiencing the same deadly tension which established the original game as the ultimate survival-horror experience.

On a remote, storm-ravaged colony-world, players will endure the elements as they navigate the planet’s surface, and explore the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station. It’s a new hunting-ground for the Alien, forcing players to improvise and develop new tools, techniques and tactics to survive the deadly game of cat-and-mouse.

Alien: Isolation is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC (Steam), and Nintendo Switch. Previously, Final Weapon had the chance to interview Alexis Smith, one half of the soundtrack duo known as The Flight, who previously composed the score for Alien: Isolation.

Nintendo has released an overview video of the Splatoon franchise, titled “A Quick Rundown on the Splatoon Series.” The video is meant to prepare players unfamiliar with the franchise before Splatoon Raiders releases on July 23. 

The overview provides details on the basic mechanics of the franchise, the fashion sense that both Inklings and Octolings possess, the many idols that inhabit the world, and the conflict with both the Octolings and the Salmonids. Check out the “quick rundown” of the Splatoon franchise below:

Splatoon Raiders will release for Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23, alongside three new amiibo for the game. It’s available to pre-order for $49.99 digitally and $59.99 physically. Despite being the first single-player focused game in the series, it supports multiplayer with up to three other players online or via local wireless. In Splatoon Raiders, you play as an engineer working alongside the Deep Cut Trio (Shiver, Frye, and Big Man). After customizing your character, you will journey across the Spirhalite Islands in search of treasure. Along the way, you’ll unlock new weapons, upgrade your abilities, and gain gadgets such as a melee attack and Big Man as a rideable mount. Currently, specific story details about the game are unknown, though it will feature the return of the Salmonids.

Splatoon 3, the latest entry in the franchise, is available now on Nintendo Switch. A proper Splatoon 4 will likely release in the coming years. Lastly, the Nintendo eShop describes Splatoon 3 as follows:
