    PlayStation and Naughty Dog have outlined the key features that fans can expect from The Last of Us Part II Remastered in a new blog post. The upcoming game will release this Friday, January 19, for the PlayStation 5.

    Naughty Dog initially released The Last of Us Part II in 2020. Their most recent games have been several remasters/remakes of their older eighth generation titles including The Last of Us Part I and Uncharted 4/Lost Legacy. Recently, Naughty Dog cancelled their GAAS title, The Last of Us Online. It is currently unknown when their next new game will release.

    The Last of Us Part II Remastered No Return Mode

    In a new PlayStation Blog post, Naughty Dog outlined some of the features that fans can expect from the upcoming Last of Us Part II Remastered. One of the major differences is a new roguelike mode called No Return. The mode includes a roster of 10 characters, “including some never before playable in the world of The Last of Us.” The mode is designed to encourage endless replayability and player expression.

    There’s also a guitar free play mode, allowing players to play the guitar in a rhythm minigame. Fans can also look forward to a few “lost levels” that were cut from the original game that will make their return in the remastered version. Check out the trailer below for more details:

    The Last of Us Part II Remastered will be available for $49.99. Previously, it would’ve cost $69.99, however, PlayStation seemingly lowered the price. Those who already own The Last of Us Part II can upgrade to the remastered version for $10. All save data and trophy progress will be transferred over. Lastly, the game will be available this Friday, January 19. It is currently unknown if The Last of Us Part II Remastered will eventually be available on PC.
