CD Projekt Red announced Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty surpassed 5 million copies sold! The DLC expansion reached this milestone in just three months after its release on September 26, 2023.
Although Cyberpunk 2077 was heavily scrutinized for its issues in 2020 and 2021, the game made a major comeback in 2023 with Update 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty expansion. The expansion and update completely overhauled Cyberpunk 2077’s mechanics and brought it closer to the game’s initial promise.
Cyberpunk 2077 5 Million Sales Milestone
CD Projekt Red confirms that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty reached 5 million copies sold in 2023. This means that sales of the expansion were accounted from September 26 to December 31. On average, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty sells roughly 1.5 million copies per month, which is quite impressive.
The latest Cyberpunk 2077 patch, Update 2.1, brought several bug fixes and adjustments for gameplay and features. This is one of the game’s last updates, as CD Projekt Red pivots to new projects like The Witcher remake and The Witcher 4. 2024 will likely be a very busy year for the development teams at CD Projekt Red.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition, which is bundled with Phantom Liberty, released on December 5, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
