Capcom has revealed the new expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, titled Ascendance, launching in 2027. A new developer message video for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance was also released. Monster Hunter Wilds is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance advances the story of the Forbidden Lands as the Expedition Team’s adventure soars to a new locale set amongst the clouds. In the expansion, hunters will explore islands in the sky and wield explosive new abilities that evolve the gameplay and take the hunting action to new heights. The challenge will also rise to a whole new level with the return of Elder Dragons and Master Rank content.

      • New Locale – The expansion introduces the Skybound Eyrie, where floating ruin-adorned islands are suspended above the Forbidden Lands. The new terrain provides fun ways to travel atop Seikret mounts, gliding between the floating isles.
      • Boost Bracer – Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance adds new actions for each of the 14 weapon types via the Boost Bracer. This fresh piece of equipment in hunters’ arsenals introduces exhilarating new attacks, combos, and mobility options to give hunters more versatile options while tackling tougher challenges.
      • Master Rank – The expansion will feature a wealth of content for newcomers and veterans alike, with even more profound challenges awaiting hunters as they seek to unravel the mystery surrounding the sudden appearance of Elder Dragons in the Forbidden Lands. The story for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance can be accessed after hunters complete the 7★ Quest “Awaking from a Dream.”
      • New Monsters – The trailer showcased a new monster pack displaying devastating aerial coordination and gave a glimpse of returning fan-favorite Elder Dragons including Kushala Daora. Monster Hunter Wilds is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Before launch, Final Weapon reviewed Monster Hunter Wilds and gave it a 4 out of 5 score, noting that the game is “a worthy follow-up to Capcom’s most successful game ever. The revamped gameplay is the best Monster Hunter has ever been, especially with additions like the Focus Mode. Beyond performance issues, Capcom went above and beyond in creating a game I find myself unable to stop playing. Innersloth has announced a new game in the Among Us franchise, titled Among Us Story: On Guard, which is a single-player murder mystery. It is available to wishlist now on PC via Steam.

Welcome to MIRA Research & Development! Take a step into our simulator to start the new Crewmate training program. Your first task? Become Guard! A free playable prologue for 1666: Amsterdam is available now on Steam and Epic Games Store ahead of the game’s Early Access launch in 2026.

At Summer Game Fest 2026, 2K announced a story expansion for Mafia: The Old Country, entitled Man of Honor. It will release on August 14 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and can be wishlisted now.

Star Wars Zero Company Releases on August 27

EA has announced that Star Wars Zero Company will release on August 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-orders will go live at 6 PM PDT. 

The new trailer showcases the gameplay for the upcoming game, and further highlights the “twilight of the republic” era that it takes place in. It also demonstrates the XCOM-styled gameplay. Check out the new trailer for Star Wars Zero Company below:

EA has released several games part of the Star Wars IP. This includes Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront II. It’s most successful games have been the Star Wars Jedi franchise, which includes Fallen Order and Survivor. The trailer’s description describes Zero Company as follows:

Key Details on the Plot Synopsis

Lucasfilm Games and Fuse Games have released a new trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer, that focuses on the game’s story. The game will release on October 6. 

The trailer’s description outlines the story: “Darius Pax may have founded the Galactic League, but Kestar Bool dominates it. As talented as he is villainous, Kestar uses his position as League Champion to threaten other pilots and extend his powerful reach even further. In a bid to retain control over his racing league, Darius Pax enlists the help of Shade, a mysterious pilot with a personal grudge against the Bool family. Remedy Entertainment has released a new trailer for Control Resonant, titled “Paranatural Manhattan,” which focuses on the game’s visuals. It will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 24.
