A press release outlines the update:
In Version 7.2, a new region in eastern Snezhnaya opens for exploration. Players can board the railway to Novokitezhgrad, Snezhnaya’s main producer of Kresnik Kristall. Built entirely underground and encased in Kresnik Kristall, the subterranean city stands in stark contrast to the snow-covered world above. Braving the biting wind and snow, players can journey east to Wingspan Peak, which unfurls like a gigantic wing. Here lies Old Kitezhgrad, Snezhnaya’s first city, founded by the Belyi Tsar.
Beyond exploration, players will help Snezhnaya confront the Holy Soil phenomenon unleashed by Ronova, utilizing new Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns to neutralize the hazards of contaminated Kresnik Kristall deposits while unearthing more of the nation’s past. Meanwhile, new Meeting Point quests follow Danica on a clandestine cleanup assignment for the Tsaritsa in Novokitezhgrad and Mitya as he investigates the soil near Teplo Oasis, their separate paths destined to cross unexpectedly. In addition, a colossal creature from the ocean depths also awaits challengers in Novokitezhgrad.
Long known as an optimistic scientist with the courage to defy the Heavenly Principles, Mitya joins the playable roster as a 5-star Electro Catalyst wielder. While in the party, he converts the team’s Superconduct reactions into Stellar-Conduct reactions, boosting the entire party’s Stellar-Conduct DMG while accumulating special energy. Pressing his Elemental Skill releases this energy to deal periodic Stellar-Conduct DMG to nearby enemies based on the amount stored, while holding the Skill consumes it to unleash a rapid flurry of enhanced Charged Attacks, enabling him to shift seamlessly between off-field and on-field roles. His Elemental Burst deals AoE Electro DMG and generates additional special energy, sustaining his rotations through prolonged battles. In certain areas of Snezhnaya, his detection device also helps players uncover hidden paths and unlock a reward that can change Mitya’s appearance.
Also joining the playable roster is Valeriy, a 4-star Electro Sword wielder and disciplined Major of the Armory Palace who provides shields and boosts Electro DMG, particularly for Stellar-Conduct reaction teams. In the first phase of Event Wishes, Mitya and Valeriy make their debut alongside a rerun of Furina. The second phase sees the return of Zibai and Linnea, accompanied by a new Chronicled Wish featuring certain Natlan characters.
Players can unlock a new limited-time event by progressing through the Version 7.2 Archon Quest, or jump straight in using the Quick Start feature. The event unites players with allies from Mondstadt to Snezhnaya in a coordinated stand against the Holy Soil phenomenon. Players will rescue wounded soldiers, relay critical intel, and carry out urgent assignments to contain the crisis.
Completing event objectives grants Primogems, enhancement materials, and the chance to invite a 4-star character of their choice to their party. Even after the event concludes, players can still explore the area to witness the aftermath. In addition, players can look forward to a filming event in Snezhnaya and a mining challenge in Natlan that further diversify the version’s gameplay. Moreover, Miliastra Wonderland introduces a new masquerade-themed lobby, a free 4-star cosmetic set, and expanded components, assets and features for stage editing.
Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows and Epic Games Store.
