Kadokawa announced that season 3 of the Made in Abyss anime series is currently in production. Season 3 will be known as the second season of the Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun anime.
The first season of Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun premiered in July 2022. The anime aired weekly into September 2022, covering a majority of Riko and the crew’s journey in the sixth layer of the Abyss. Season 3 will likely feature the Capital of the Unreturned and Curse Fleet arcs. However, information about season 3 is scarce at the moment (Thanks, Siliconera).
Kadokawa released a new trailer to announce the third season. The trailer features clips from the first two seasons of the anime leading into confirmation of season 3. Made in Abyss fans can expect more information about season 3 at a later date.
