During the company’s latest financials briefing and investors Q&A, TV Tokyo confirmed that there are plans for new projects to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Naruto anime, including “games developed by new partners.” TV Tokyo CEO and president Hiroshi Yoshitsugu also commented on global momentum building toward the Naruto anime’s 25th anniversary in 2027.
“We position the [Naruto] 25th anniversary as the beginning of a new stage, and we have various plans centered around it. We also have plans in the works for 2027 and beyond, which include animations* and games developed by new partners.”
According to Final Weapon staff writer and translator Ryuji, the exact Japanese term used for animations was “eizou,” which could encompass media projects outside of anime such as movies.
When asked about the medium- to long-term future of the Naruto anime, TV Tokyo noted that “there are some projects that can’t be discussed since no announcements have been made, but we want to the expectations of fans worldwide.”
CEO Yoshitsugu discussed that TV Tokyo plans to build global momentum toward the anniversary, which includes the new theme park in France.
Yoshitsugu said, “We aim to build global momentum for the 25th anniversary of the Naruto anime in 2027, and this includes a theme park in the south of France featured on this page. A Naruto-themed area has opened there, and we hope that fans from around the world will visit and enjoy it.”
Yoshitsugu also mentioned that titles like Black Clover, Bleach, and Gintama are in the pipeline for titles to drive global expansion following Naruto.
Originally, new anime specials were planned for the Naruto 20th anniversary. However, these anniversary specials were delayed indefinitely to improve its quality as Studio Pierrot proceeded to adapt Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.
