SEGA and ATLUS have announced Metaphor: ReFantazio, the upcoming fantasy RPG previously known as Project Re Fantasy. The game’s development is lead by ATLUS’ Studio Zero and former Persona series director Katsura Hoshino. Metaphor: DeFantazio launches in 2024 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, and additional platforms were not announced.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is a new fantasy RPG with elements from the Megami Tensei franchise. Specifically, the announcement trailer shows turn-based gameplay with familiar skills from the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series. Persona series illustrator Shigenori Soejima and composer Shoji Meguro return to create vivid illustrations and the original soundtrack for Metaphor: ReFantazio respectively. A new edition of “Persona Stalker Club” airs on June 20 at 6 a.m. PDT / 9 a.m. EDT. Fans may learn more about Studio Zero’s upcoming title by tuning into the broadcast on YouTube. The broadcast is hosted by Mafia Kajita, Sayawaka, and Tomomi Isomura. In the meantime, fans may check out the announcement trailer and producer message by Katsura Hoshino.

ATLUS fans may also look forward to Persona 3 Reload, a remake of the original Persona 3 game from 2006. Persona 3 Reload includes all-new HD graphics, stylized menus, revamped social links, new side episodes, quality of life improvements, and much more. The remake is targeting an early 2024 release date, and fans can expect more details soon.
Additionally, Persona 5 Tactica launches in November 2023 as a new strategy RPG featuring the Phantom Thieves and original characters. Persona 5 Tactica players will face a new threat in the Metaverse while adapting to a new twist in combat. Instead of the standard Persona turn-based combat system, the new title allows players to control the Phantom Thieves and their allies in a strategy RPG.
Lastly, Metaphor: DeFantazio launches in 2024 for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
