    Langrisser I & II remakes are west bound in 2020

    NIS America has announced today that Langrisser I & II are west bound for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Early 2020. The Langrisser I & II remakes were originally released in Japan on February 7th, 2019. They were sold at a price of 6,800 yen, which roughly equates to $63 USD. You can check out the reveal trailer for this collection here. Here’s the official description of the game:

    “Discover two timeless tales, brought together for a new age! When the forces of darkness seek to extinguish life as we know it, the descendants of Light will emerge and vanquish chaos with the legendary sword, Langrisser! Remade for modern consoles, Langrisser I & II brings new light to this legendary strategy RPG series.”

    Langrisser I & II will have a limited edition for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC when it launches in Early 2020. You can take a look at the limited edition below.

    Rumor: Sony Interactive Entertainment potentially could acquire Remedy Entertainment

    According to PushSquare, Sony Interactive Entertainment potentially could be acquiring Remedy Entertainment in the future. They mentioned that sources close to them have heard Sony Interactive Entertainment is potentially going to bid on the company. In their recent article titled Feature: Which Studios Could Sony Realistically Acquire?, PushSquare mentioned this when talking about Remedy Entertainment:

    “We’ve also heard from a number of sources that Sony is lining up a bid, although the company’s recent reacquisition of the Alan Wake brand casts some doubt on that speculation.”

    Remedy Entertainment was founded in 1995, and has put out many well received games over the past 20 years. Remedy Entertainment’s next game, Control, is set to release this year, and is very anticipated by many in various communities. The Alan Wake franchise’s publishing rights were given back to Remedy Entertainment very recently, which could potentially mean a sequel could possibly be coming in the future.

    It appears that The Upside Down has invaded Fortnite

    Fortnite has always had special events from time to time to bring extra fun to the game, but now it appears that the MegaMall has been taken over courtesy of Stranger Things.

    Portals have appeared around the MegaMall probably for a special event as we are getting ready to binge the new season of Stranger Things.

    If you’re in the area, head to the MegaMall and who knows, you might see a Demogorgon waiting for a Three Musketeers. Expect to find out more about these today, July 3rd, as Stranger Things Season 3 launches July 4th, 2019.

    Fortnite was originally released in 2017 as a free to play battle royale game. The game is owned and managed by Epic Games, and they provide weekly updates to the game with brand new weapons, POIs, and more. Fortnite surged in popularity through Twitch, and still has a very impressive competitive community to this day.

    Metal Wolf Chaos XD launching on August 6th, 2019

    The Microsoft Store has revealed that Metal Wolf Chaos XD will launch in August 6th, 2019. Here is the official description of the game from the Microsoft Store:

    “The country is in peril as President Michael Wilson defends the nation against a full-scale rebellion led by Vice-President Richard Hawk and the mechanized legions he commands. As the 47th President of the United States, it is your sworn duty to take your country back by any means necessary and end this unjust coup d’etat! Battle in your advanced mech – armed to the teeth – across iconic American landscapes including the Brooklyn Bridge, the Grand Canyon, and the front steps of the White House. FromSoftware originally released Metal Wolf Chaos in December 2004, appearing exclusively in Japan. The game went on to become somewhat of a legend as it was hard to acquire and even harder to play outside of Japan with most fans experience of the game through Let’s Play videos and the occasional screenshot. Devolver Digital and FromSoftware have partnered together with developer General Arcade to modernize Metal Wolf Chaos with updates to the game including upgraded visual fidelity, refined controls and gameplay, a new save system, and 4K + 16:9 support for modern displays.”

    The Microsoft Store has also revealed the file size of the game, standing at approximately 9.48 GB. Metal Wolf Chaos XD will launch on Xbox One, PC, and PS4 when it releases on August 6th, 2019.

    Rumor: Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 info shown on ESRB

    It appears that information regarding the upcoming sports game Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 has been revealed. The information was first discovered by twitter user Stealth40k on the game’s official ESRB page, through its rating summary.

    The ESRB rating reads that the game is a “collection of sports-themed games in which players compete with Mario, Sonic, and their friends at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games”. We already knew this, but the post goes on to say players can “pilot a plane to shoot down waves of enemy ships”. Having a game mode like this honestly sounds rather interesting. It will be rather fun to see how this manages to hold up on the Nintendo Switch though. The game will also feature swimming, gymnastics, soccer, surfing, along with several other sports.

    Of course, you should always take this with a grain of salt. The game isn’t going to be released for another 4 months so the information is subject to change. It should be reason to be excited regardless though. You’ll be able to play this game on Nintendo Switch in November. An arcade cabinet version is also planned for sometime in 202

    Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is GameStop exclusive at retail

    Last month, Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered was announced and if you’re looking to get your hands on a physical copy, you only have one place to go.

    GameStop has been confirmed to be the only retailer to be carrying physical copies of the game as an exclusive. We’ve seen this in the past with the original Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition and Xenoblade Chronicles. Instead of going to a store, GameStop has said you can pre-order online as well.

    Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is set to release on all platforms digitally, while Epic Games Store has acquired the game as an exclusive through their service.

    Apex Legends Season 2 is out now!

    Today, Respawn has finally released the long awaited Apex Legends Season 2. We last received details about the update via EA Play at E3 last month, but we now have it in our hands. This is the first big content update since the season system was first introduced, and should have players excited.

    Season 2, otherwise known as “Battle Charge” features a lot of large content updates to shake up the formula. An EMP has hit the island and has now let many different creatures roam about. The flyers, for example, are flying dragons that contain loot for players to pick up at random drops. Along with this are large leviathans which should add a new atmosphere to the game. In combination with this, players can now take control of the new character Wattson. She is an electricity based legend, with different traps to stop enemy ordnance and control their movement. Finally, there’s a new weapon known as the L-STAR. The L-STAR is an energy weapon found in supply drops which is powerful enough to open doors. It’s sure to create a new dynamic of play when using buildings as cover.

    Along with these big content updates, there’s a slew of smaller balance changes which should help to refine the game. If you’d like to see the full list, you can find them here. Apex Legends is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One for free.

    Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town remake is coming to Nintendo Switch

    In the new issue of Famitsu, it was revealed that Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, the Gameboy Advance Classic, is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 17 in Japan.  Marvelous is handeling the remake, and for now, we have these screenshots of the graphically updated game.

    Due to Marvelous deciding to have their own American division separate from Natsume, if the game were to come to North America, it would probably be under the Story of Seasons brand, and not Harvest Moon.

    Harvest Moon is an agricultural role-playing simulation game. Your main objective is to rebuild an old farm and build it up into a successful one. Throughout the game, side quests and stories, friendships, and even marriage await you.

    Harvest Moon retained its original name worldwide until 2011. Natsume, the company that localizes the games, owns the Harvest Moon brand, and not the actual developers.  As a result, 2 new series arise. The Harvest Moon series we knew and loved is now called Story of Seasons, created by XSEED and Marvelous. Natsume took the opportunity and developed their own games under the Harvest Moon moniker. This new remake however, is simply a remake of the classic game.

    UPDATE: Marvelous has confirmed the existence of Story of Seasons: Reunion in Mineral Town in NA/EU, set to release after the Japanese/Asian version of the game, which releases October 17 of this year. Here’s the Japanese cover art as well.

    Shantae 5 is getting an intro from TRIGGER

    Earlier today, WayForward, the studio behind Shantae, announced that the upcoming Shantae 5 would be getting an animated intro, created by Studio TRIGGER.

    Studio TRIGGER is known for its work on My Witch Acadamia, its first animated short, Kill la Kill, and Gurren Lagann. Currently, they’re collaborating with Arc System Works on the upcoming release of Kill la Kill: IF, an arena fighting game set in the world of the original anime.

    Several fans asked WayForward Studios about the possibility of a Shantae animated series, and the studio said that there were currently no plans for that.

    Shantae 5 was revealed to the world by WayFoward on March 25th, 2019 via Twitter. It is the sequel to Shantae 4 in the mainline series. Shantae 5 is expected to release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Apple Arcade (included with the subscription) in 2019.
