Star Detective Precure! and Detective Conan Anime Collaboration Announced

The staff behind the Precure franchise has announced that Star Detective Precure! and Detective Conan will crossover in upcoming episodes of both shows. The Star Detective Precure! episode will air May 31, with Detective Conan‘s episode coming out June 6.

This will be the first collaboration between the two franchises. Merchandise commemorating the crossover are also on the way. Episode 18 of Star Detective Precure! is titled “Meitantei no Assemble” (Great Detectives Assemble). It will feature Conan Edogawa helping the Star Detective Precure attempt to track down the Phantom Thieves.

Meanwhile, episode 1203 of Detective Conan is titled “Hanamaru na Answer” (The Hanamaru Answer). It sees Cure Answer join the Junior Detective League to stop a series of jewellery robberies. Yomiuri TV’s Yoshida Takeshi spoke about the collaboration, saying the following (via Mantan Web):

It’s been a year since I met producer Tada Kanako when she told me, ‘Next year’s Precure will be a detective.’ Thinking back to that day, my heart warms. A collaboration between two works from different TV stations, production companies, and original publishers. There is no precedent, and it seemed like an impossible hurdle to overcome, but my conviction that ‘this will be interesting’ came first. …I’ll leave the hard adjustments that followed to your imagination (laughs). By the way, I’ve included a message for Precure after Next Conan’s Hint, so don’t miss it until the very end. I’ll show you a miraculous collaboration!

Check out the announcement post below:

Star Detective Precure! is produced by Toei Animation and has been airing since February 2026, the latest of twenty-three shows in the Pretty Cure franchise. It is available to stream on Crunchyroll. Detective Conan (or Case Closed) is produced by TMS Entertainment and Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation. It began in January 1996 and has aired 1201 episodes, making it one of the longest-running anime ever. It is also available on Crunchyroll.

Kingdom Hearts Nintendo Switch Cloud Version Demos Have Been Removed

Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece

Square Enix has seemingly removed the demos for the Kingdom Hearts Cloud Version ports on Nintendo Switch. This has spurred hopes that native ports for Nintendo Switch 2 are on the horizon.

User KHMLTomorrow noticed the change and compared the eShop page to Donkey Kong Bananza to show the difference. He also noted that Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memories, which received a native port to Nintendo Switch, still has a playable demo. Currently, all the ports are still available to purchase on the Nintendo eShop. Check out the full comparison below:

Square Enix initially released the Cloud Version ports of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind for Nintendo Switch in 2022, not long after the release of Sora in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Since its release, the Kingdom Hearts franchise has made the jump to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. As such, fans have been hoping for a way to play the Kingdom Hearts games on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 without the Cloud Versions’ requirement for streaming through an Internet connection. Only time will tell if these hopes become reality.

Kingdom Hearts IV is currently in development at Square Enix. Announced in 2022, it will take place in Quadratum following Sora after the events of Kingdom Hearts III. Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that Quadratum will act as the “hub” for the early portions of the game and that there will be a “Lost Masters” antagonist group. While there has largely been no news regarding the development of the game, a development update was shared in May 2025, revealing new screenshots of the game and promising fans more information in due time.

Ubusuna Development Cancelled by M2

Ubusuna Development Cancelled by M2

M2 has announced that it has cancelled Ubusuna, a shoot-em-up from Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga creator Hiroshi Iuchi. M2 initially announced the game in 2014.

Previously, M2 revealed new details about the game’s story in 2022, and further detailed the designs for the upcoming release. It stated that development was progressing well and released a prologue music collection. Now, the game will likely never be released officially to the public due to Iuchi’s resignation from M2. That said, in a statement, M2 president Naoki Horii explained that Ubusuna could still see the light of day one day, but for now, the project is on ice. The full statement is as follows:

We have been working on Ubusuna since its announcement in 2014, and it is with a heavy heart that we announce our decision to cancel its development.
The project has been led by a team centered around our in-house game creator, Hiroshi Iuchi. However, difficult circumstances led to Mr. Iuchi’s submission of his resignation, which we have accepted, under a mutual agreement and understanding.
Although we explored ways to continue this project following Mr. Iuchi’s departure, we came to the conclusion that, given the nature of the work, it would be difficult to bring Ubusuna to its complete form without him. We have therefore decided that we must abandon further development.
We sincerely apologize to all who have supported Ubusuna over the years—fans both in Japan and abroad who have eagerly awaited its completion, external creators who have dedicated their efforts daily toward its completion, and media outlets that have cooperated with our PR. We have failed to live up to their expectations, and we are deeply sorry.
Also, following the decision to halt development, we have made the video “Ubusuna SOUNDTRACK-EP-” no longer available on our YouTube channel. We offer our deepest apologies to everyone who has been enjoying the video.
However, to avoid misunderstanding, I would like to clarify that Mr. Iuchi has not given up all hope of completing Ubusuna, independent of M2. It is my sincerest hope that he will find an opportunity to resume the project in some form, be it different from the current one, and that you may one day be reunited with the finished work.
Lastly, I must ask you to be aware that this matter has had a profound impact not only on our fans but on those involved in Ubusuna and many of our employees, both emotionally and physically.
Speculative posts regarding the situation, and defamatory comments on social media and other platforms may negatively affect the mental and physical well-being of those concerned, and may also pose risks to their privacy. I seek your understanding and ask you kindly to refrain from making such posts or comments.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Releases DLC Character Mr. Karate on May 27

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Releases DLC Character Mr. Karate on May 27

SNK has announced that it will release the next DLC character, Mr. Karate, for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on May 27. Additionally, it has revealed the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming character.

The trailer’s description provides an overview of Mr. Karate: “A mysterious martial artist in a tengu mask. His name and visage evoke memories of a fearsome fighter who, long ago, sowed discord throughout South Town. And yet his strength and skill are all his own—a polished practitioner of the Kyokugen style whose sheer might surpasses current head Marco Rodrigues himself. The verdict among all who fall to the mask is brutally clear: what lies beneath is no mere man, but a true tiger unleashed.

River Vitae voices the character in English, while Go Shinomiya voices him in Japanese. He has his own dedicated Arcade Mode and Episodes in South Town. Additionally, considering his voice actor, it’s likely that Robert Garcia from the Art of Fighting and King of Fighters franchises is the character behind the Mr. Karate mask. Check out the gameplay trailer for Mr. Karate in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolvesbelow:

Lastly, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Season Pass 2 is available now for $19.99 and includes Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, Wolfgang Krauser, Kenshiro from the Hokuto no Ken -Fist of the North Star-, and Mr. Karate. More news about the next character coming to City of the Wolves will likely surface at a later date.
