Summer Game Fest 2026 has come to an end, and with it, ends a week of some of the biggest announcements of the year. The event offered reveals for brand new games and updates for previously announced titles. Regardless of whether you like original IPs or certain pre-existing franchises, there was likely a game for you. However, considering just how many events took place this past week, it may be hard to keep track of everything that was announced. Thankfully, we’ve got you covered: here’s some of the biggest announcements of Summer Game Fest 2026!

God of War: Laufey

God of War Laufey

God of War Laufey is the next mainline entry in the God of War franchise. Rather than featuring Kratos as the main protagonist, the game instead focuses on Laufey; Kratos’ wife, the mother of Atreus, and the defender of the Giants. Santa Monica Studios revealed the first gameplay trailer for the game, which lasted for a whopping 20 minutes. The trailer teased Laufey’s journey in the Everywhen, known as the Afterlife of the Gods, her conflicts with the Mongolian and Egyptian Gods of War, and her quicker gameplay style, which serves as a staunch contrast to Kratos’ combat. The release date for the game is currently unknown, though it will release on PlayStation 5 when it does. Check out the first trailer for God of War Laufey below:

Rayman Legends: Retold

Rayman Legends: Retold

Back in 2013, Ubisoft released one of the most beloved 2D platformers of the 21st century in the form of Rayman Legends. Since then, the Rayman character has been left on the backburner and limited to rare cameo appearances in other games. Now, finally, the Rayman character will return with a full remake of Rayman LegendsRayman Legends: Retold reinvents the beloved game with a new 3D visual style, voice acting, new cutscenes, and new music levels, while still keeping the core of the original intact. The game will release on October 1 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Check out the trailer for Rayman Legends: Retold below:

Resident Evil Veronica

After the most successful Resident Evil game in history with Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has more left in the tank for the beloved horror franchise. Resident Evil Veronica is the fifth remake in the franchise, which seeks to recapture the magic of the 2000 survival horror game made for the 6th generation of consoles, Code Veronica. It will feature Claire Redfield in a starring role, not long after the events of Resident Evil 2, trapped on Rockfort Island and forced to fend off against human and viral monsters alike. It will release at some point in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Check out the first trailer for Resident Evil Veronica below:

Alien: Isolation 2

Over ten years ago, SEGA and Creative Assembly released one of the most beloved horror games of the 2010s in the form of Alien: Isolation. Its incredible worldbuilding and horrifying monsters, alongside a truly diabolical AI that made the Xenomorph more terrifying than ever before, made it a cult classic. However, its low sales at the time of its release meant that there were very few chances of it ever getting a sequel. That is, until now, as Alien Isolation 2 finally continues the series with the titular monster being placed upon an unsuspecting colony world. Only time will tell when it will release and how it will compare to its predecessor, but it will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Check out the trailer for Alien: Isolation 2 below:

gen ATLAS

Titled gen ATLAS, it is a single-player open-world action-adventure game that takes place in a sci-fi universe. The game description states that “as you journey deeper into this strange world, a colossal robot awaits. Its overwhelming power opens paths to places once beyond reach, transforming your conception of the world. Across an endless expanse of time, the remnants of those forgotten constructs begin to move once more.” While details about the game’s release date are scarce, it will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT

The game will introduce a “new direction for Gundam” and feature “explosive fast-paced battles set in sprawling environments, with players taking on enemy hordes, massive bosses, and seemingly insurmountable challenges, set against an engaging Sci-Fi backdrop.” Further, it will feature the incredible talents of Mick Gordon as the composer, who has previously worked on the soundtracks for Killer InstinctDoom, and Doom Eternal. It will release in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Check out the trailer for Gundam Rogue Orbit below:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin

Last Ronin

One of the most beloved comics of the 2020s is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin. It’s a dark re-imagining of the Turtles mythos, as one last member of the group is forced to carry on the legacy of his brothers in a dark Cyberpunk future. Now, Platinum Games seeks to recapture the magic of the comic in a new action game releasing for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While details about the game, such as its release date and gameplay, are few and far between, Platinum will undoubtedly bring its expertise from Ninja Gaiden 4, NieR: Automata, and the Bayonetta series to this new take on the Ninja Turtles. The Wolf Among Us 2

While not a new announcement, considering how long it’s been since the last time we saw The Wolf Among Us 2, it may as well be a new game. Initially, it was set to release in 2018 before Telltale’s closure, before being planned for a 2023 release, only to be delayed once more. Now, finally, The Wolf Among Us 2 will release in 2027 and continue the story that we’ve been waiting 14 years to see a continuation of. Featuring the return of both Bigby Wolf and Snow White, as well as new characters, Wolf will need to contend against a new conspiracy and decide, once and for all, what kind of Sheriff he wants to be. For those who’re desperate for more Wolf Among Us, a remastered version of the original will release in holiday 2026. Check out the newest trailer for The Wolf Among Us 2 below:

Final Fantasy VII Revelation

Final Fantasy VII Revelation

After seven years, the unknown journey is about to come to an end as Final Fantasy VII Revelation will conclude the Remake trilogy in 2027. It will expand on every element that previous entries introduced and add new ones, such as new and improved minigames, a fully controllable Highwind, a new FITS system, and bigger and better fights. More importantly, it will serve as the finale to 30 years of storytelling that kicked off with the release of Final Fantasy VII in 1997 and wrap up the character arcs of everyone involved. Furthermore, it will release on all platforms simultaneously upon launch, including Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Crazy Taxi: World Tour

Back in 2023, SEGA announced that it would be resurrecting some of its most beloved franchises. This included Virtua FighterStreets of RageJet Set Radio, and notably, Crazy Taxi. Now, after three years, we finally have a good look at the next entry in the Crazy Taxi franchise. World Tour brings back the series’ iconic gameplay style, with new maps and missions, multiplayer modes, a classic arcade mode, numerous customization options, and more new features. Players won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on it, as Crazy Taxi: World Tour will release for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2027. Spyro: A Realm Beyond

Spyro

Speaking of long-forgotten franchises, it has been 18 years since the last mainline Spyro game. Sure, there has been the Skylanders games and the Reignited Trilogy, which remade the original three entries in the series, there hasn’t been anything new on the level of Crash 4: It’s About Time. Now, Toys for Bob has returned to bring the purple dragon back into the limelight. Spyro: A Realm Beyond will give the titular character unlimited free flight for the first time in franchise history as he navigates a new world, makes new allies, and do battle against enemies new and old alike. It will release in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Check out the trailer for Spyro: A Realm Beyond below:

Persona 6

Persona 6

Considering just how successful Persona 5 has been, the recent release of Persona 3 Reload, and the upcoming launch of Persona 4 Revival, you wouldn’t be blamed for wondering if we would ever get a Persona 6 in the near future. However, ATLUS quickly proved those fears to be unfounded, as it released the first teaser trailer for Persona 6 just a few days ago. Currently, there are very few details known about the next entry of the massive RPG series, but the initial trailer seems to hint towards a darker, more horror-centric tone as the store page alludes towards “strange rumors, unsettling urban legends, and occult incidents.” Hopefully it won’t be long before we hear new details about Persona 6, but for now, we do know that it will release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Check out the first trailer for Persona 6 below:

Xenoblade Genesis

Xenoblade Genesis

Nintendo hit Xenoblade fans with a 1-2 sucker punch during the most recent Nintendo Direct. Not only are we getting Nintendo Switch 2 Editions of all of the Xenoblade Chronicles games, but we’re also getting a brand new beginning for the franchise in the form of Xenoblade Genesis. Currently, all we know about Genesis other than what we saw in the trailer, are the staff members. Tetsuya Takahashi will direct, Yasunori Mitsuda is the main composer, Kiyota Manami and Mariam Abounnasr are the additional composers, and Mai Yoneyama and PALOW are the character designers. Thankfully, the game will release in 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, so it’s only a matter of time before we hear about the next chapter for the Xenoblade series.

Deltarune Chapter 5

Deltarune Chapter 5

The story of Deltarune is almost at an end, and with the imminent release of Chapter 5, that finale looms ever closer. Chapter 5 will continue right where Chapter 4 left off, and take place in the midst of the festival that has been built up since the very beginning. It will also focus on a Dark World themed around flowers, leading many to speculate that Asgore will play a major role. Now that Kris, Susie, and Ralsei know who their true enemy is, they are more determined than ever before. Only you can decide where the story goes next when Chapter 5 releases on June 24 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Check out the trailer for Deltarune Chapter 5 below:

Kingdom Hearts IV

Summer Game Fest 2026 as a whole featured numerous updates for games and franchises we never thought we’d see again, but easily one of the most surprising was the out of nowhere new trailer for Kingdom Hearts IV. Sure, the Kingdom Hearts series is finally making the proper jump to Nintendo Switch 2 in the form of Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] on October 8, but the announcement that Kingdom Hearts IV would release on Switch 2 alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC was far from people’s minds. The trailer showed new hints of gameplay, some new characters, several returning characters, and of course, Sora front and center. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long before we see where his journey goes next. In the meantime, check out the latest trailer for Kingdom Hearts IV below:

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Even if it was one of gaming’s worst kept secrets as of late, it’s hard to deny how much of a bombshell the announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake was for thousands around the world. A complete reinvention of one of the greatest games of all time with a gorgeous new visual style feels like a match made in heaven that is sure to make the Nintendo Switch 2 more appealing than ever before. While we know very few details about how the game will play, considering it will release in 2026, I guarantee that we’ll see the first proper look at this remake sooner rather than later. For now, check out the first trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake below:
