Square Enix has announced that the Kingdom Hearts series is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III], launching October 8 alongside the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S versions. A demo for Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind will be available today. Previously, Square Enix shared new development screenshots of Kingdom Hearts IV and released a message to fans. The developers are hard at work for Kingdom Hearts IV in order to create a game that lives up to fan’s expectations. According to Nomura, development of Kingdom Hearts IV is progressing smoothly.
Square Enix canceled development of Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, since it was determined that it would be difficult for the developers to offer a service that would be satisfactory for players. Although Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link has been canceled, Square Enix is still developing Kingdom Hearts IV.
Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link was revealed alongside the highly-anticipated Kingdom Hearts IV during the 20th anniversary event in April 2022. Similarly to Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link was supposed to tell a story that bridges the gap between plot threads long before Sora’s journey in the original game. Before its cancellation, the game was delayed back in November 2024.
