Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] is Coming to Switch 2 on October 8

Square Enix has announced that the Kingdom Hearts series is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III], launching October 8 alongside the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. Pre-orders for Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] will also open today, and KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX will be available natively on Nintendo Switch as well.

A demo for Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind will be available now in the Nintendo eShop. The demo includes the beginning of the game through the early stages of Olympus, along with the start and middle section of Toy Box World. Save data from the beginning of the game to Olympus carries over to the full game, while the data from the Toy Box World section does not. 

Fans can pre-order Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] or Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind to receive an exclusive keyblade per platform. Switch 2 players will receive the Long Night keyblade, PlayStation 5 players will receive the Midnight Blue keyblade, and Xbox Series X|S players will receive the Phantom Green keyblade. Digital pre-orders on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S also include 48 hours of early access. 

Players who own the Nintendo Switch (Cloud ver.), PlayStation 4, or Xbox One versions can get a 50% discount on digital pre-orders and digital post-launch purchases on their respective platforms. Save data transfers from Nintendo Switch (Cloud ver.), allowing players to pick up from where they left off on Switch 2. All sales for Nintendo Switch (Cloud ver.) have been discounted, and service for the cloud-based games will end on June 9, 2027, at 7:59 a.m. PT.

Previously, Square Enix shared new development screenshots of Kingdom Hearts IV and released a message to fans. The developers are hard at work for Kingdom Hearts IV in order to create a game that lives up to fan’s expectations. Square Enix also canceled development of Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, since it was determined that it would be difficult for the developers to offer a service that would be satisfactory for players.

Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link was revealed alongside the highly-anticipated Kingdom Hearts IV during the 20th anniversary event in April 2022. Similarly to Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link was supposed to tell a story that bridges the gap between plot threads long before Sora’s journey in the original game. Before its cancellation, the game was delayed back in November 2024.
