Recently, Insider Gaming reported that future Mortal Kombat 1 DLC has been cancelled. The reason for this is supposedly due to the sales for the recent expansion, Khaos Reigns, underperforming. The cancelled DLCs would’ve included a third Kombat Pack, as well as a new story expansion. Currently, neither Ed Boon, NetherRealm Studios, or Warner Bros. have commented on the report.

In September, NetherRealm Studios released the expansion for Mortal Kombat 1, titled Khaos Reigns. It includes Noob Saibot, Sektor, and Cyrax at launch. In November, NetherRealm added Ghostface to the game. The most recent DLC launched for Mortal Kombat 1 featured Conan the Barbarian. He is available now for both early access owners and those who own the base edition of the game. The next character for the DLC will include the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

Mortal Kombat 1 is the latest entry in the beloved Mortal Kombat franchise. The game is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Additionally, the upcoming Mortal Kombat II film will release in theaters on October 24. The film will follow-up the Mortal Kombat film released in 2021 and will feature new live-action depictions of Johnny Cage, as well as Kitana, Jade, Shao Khan, Quan-Chi, and Sindel.
