SEGA has announced that Sonic X Shadow Generations surpassed 3 million copies sold worldwide across all platforms. To celebrate the milestone, a new visual for Sonic X Shadow Generations was released.
Sonic fans can dive into Sonic x Shadow Generations right now on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. In addition, the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack is available now, allowing players to explore modern-day Shibuya as Shadow from Sonic the Hedgehog 3, voiced by Keanu Reeves himself. The level is accessible from the White Space in Shadow Generations, which is Shadow’s campaign.
It’s worth noting that there’s no upgrade pack for Sonic X Shadow Generations for Nintendo Switch 2, meaning that players who already have the Nintendo Switch version will need to buy the game again to play the enhanced version. This is in addition to needing to buy the DLC again in the Nintendo Switch 2 version. However, players can transfer save data from the Nintendo Switch version to Nintendo Switch 2, allowing them to play from where they last left off. Those who purchase the physical copy will also need to consider the 24 GB+ file size for Sonic x Shadow Generations, since it’s a game-key card title.
