NEXON has announced that it will be publishing the Japanese version of Blue Archive and handling the game’s service operations in the country. Blue Archive producer Yongha Kim stated that the development team will work closely with Yostar as the transition is being made in order to ensure that they preserve players’ progress, memories, and experience.
The transition from Yostar to NEXON will begin in January 2027, with Blue Archive planned to go into maintenance as the publisher change is completed. Players will earn free rewards once maintenance is complete, with more details to be revealed on the game’s official Japanese website.
NEXON currently publishes the global version of Blue Archive, which is available now for iOS, Android, and PC via Steam in English. A previous update added Steam Deck and controller support to the PC version, along with a Steam Startup Movie for 3,000 points in the Steam Points Shop. To properly play Blue Archive on Steam Deck, a virtual cursor must be enabled.
Before the launch of the game’s Steam version, Final Weapon had the chance to interview producer Yongha Kim and studio producer Gyeong Seop An. The Blue Archive producers discussed the Steam version, support and feedback from players, their evolving roles, the possibility of a potential release on other platforms, and much more.
