Mortal Kombat II will release in theaters on October 24. The film will follow-up the Mortal Kombat film released in 2021 and will feature new live-action depictions of Johnny Cage, as well as Kitana, Jade, Shao Khan, Quan-Chi, and Sindel. Recently, Mortal Kombat 1 added Conan the Barbarian as part of the Khaos Reigns expansion pack. In September, NetherRealm Studios released the expansion. It included Noob Saibot, Sektor, and Cyrax at launch. The most recent DLC launched for Mortal Kombat 1 added Ghostface to the game. He is available now for both early access owners and those who own the base edition of the game. The next character for the DLC will include the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Late last year, Insider Gaming reported that future Mortal Kombat 1 DLC has been cancelled. The reason for this is supposedly due to the sales for Khaos Reigns underperforming. The cancelled DLCs would’ve included a third Kombat Pack, as well as a new story expansion. Currently, neither Ed Boon, NetherRealm Studios, or Warner Bros. have commented on the report. Mortal Kombat 1 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
