Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Surpasses 400,000 Copies Sold

Dragami Games has announced that Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP surpassed 400,000 copies sold worldwide. To celebrate reaching 400,000 copies sold and Lollipop Chainsaw’s 14th anniversary, Dragami Games confirmed that the new Kogai costume will be released in late June for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP. The Kogai costumer is the DRAGAMI Special Award winner from last year’s Costume Design Contest.

Previously, Nada Holdings and Dragami Games teamed up to announce a new Lollipop Chainsaw game and anime were in the works. The development team of the new game involves key staff members that were part of the previous Lollipop Chainsaw game, and an official X (formerly Twitter) account for the upcoming project has been opened.

Dragami Games said, “development is already underway on a brand-new Lollipop Chainsaw title that both preserves and builds upon the appeal of the original. With a firm commitment to honoring the spirit of the original work, the development team includes key staff members who were involved in the previous title. The new project is also being developed with close attention to fan feedback.”

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is available now for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The Switch 2 version features major improvements in resolution, frame rate, and graphics quality, along with an exclusive exclusive “Gun Shooting Mode.” Nintendo Switch owners of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP may upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version via an upgrade pack for $9.99.

The anime stars Akari Kitō as Hana Ichise and Kikunosuke Toya as Saku Ichinomiya. Tōru Kitahata, known for his work on Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It, is directing the anime at TROYCA. Minami Murayama is handling the character design, and Yūko Kakihara is handling the series scripts. Yukari Hashimoto and R.O.N are composing the music.

The staff for the upcoming anime adaptation of Otsuji’s My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked (Ibitte Konai Gibo to Gishi) manga revealed the anime’s main promotional video, theme song information, additional cast members, and the anime’s July 8 release date. The trailer previews both the opening and ending theme songs. Lia performs the opening theme song “Amayadori no Shōkei (Longing to Take Shelter From the Rain),” while AVAM performs the ending theme song “Claire.”

The staff for the upcoming anime adaptation of Hiroshi Shiibashi’s Recommendation from Mr. Iwamoto (Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen) manga revealed a new promotional video and key visual. The video previews the opening theme song. THE JET BOY BANGERZ will perform the opening theme song “Budding.”

Shiibashi initially launched the Recommendation from Mr. Iwamoto manga in 2021. Shueisha recently published the 13th compiled volume of the manga on January 19. Shiibashi also previously worked on the Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan (Nurarihyon no Mago) manga series, which ran from 2008 to 2012. 25 volumes of the manga were released, and VIZ Media published the manga series in English. The manga received four more chapters in 2023.

New Collectible RPG Star Sailors Launches June 30 Worldwide

Com2uS and Panana Studio have announced that new collectible RPG Star Sailors launches globally on June 30 for Android via Google Play and iOS via App Store. Global pre-registration is available now on both Android and iOS.

The launch of Star Sailors comes after a final polishing phase, which was conducted through the global closed beta test and final test. Star Sailors also attracted attention with the participation of art director Coax, whose work helped shape the game’s identity.

“Players will be able to enjoy a unique experience through a carefully crafted game structure and narratives that bring genuine depth and personality to every character,” said Kang Il-mo, CEO of Panana Studio.

Developed by Panana Studio, Star Sailors is a collectible RPG set in a fantasy world, featuring a stylish anime-inspired presentation, strategic turn-based combat, and a cast of unique and memorable characters. A newly opened official X (formerly Twitter) account has announced that Coco Uzuki’s Fall in Love, You False Angels manga is getting a TV anime in 2027. To celebrate the announcement of the Fall in Love, You False Angels anime, Uzuki shared a new illustration:

The wraparound jacket cover for the seventh volume of Fall in Love, You False Angels manga also displays the announcement of the anime adaptation. The volume released this Friday, June 12, in Japan. 

Uzuki launched the manga in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine in April 2023. Fall in Love, You False Angels would go on to win the Kodansha Manga Awards in 2025, and it was also nominated for the Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2025. The manga also ranked in the top 20 among female readers for Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook multiple times.

Kadokawa has announced that Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! 2 will premiere on July 2 at 9:40 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX and d Anime Store in Japan. Crunchyroll will stream Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! 2 as it airs in Japan, and a new trailer reveals and previews the ending theme song “Bokura ~Akutagawa Ryūnosuke Ver.~ (We – Ryūnosuke Akutagawa Ver.)” by Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, who is voiced by Kenshō Ono.

Kagurabachi Anime Reveals New Chihiro Rokuhira Trailer and Visual

CyberAgent and Shochiku have released a new trailer and visual for the upcoming Kagurabachi anime highlighting protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira, who is voiced by Taihi Kimura. The latest Kagurabachi trailer gives some foreshadowing into what fans can expect from Chihiro and Kimura’s performance in the anime.

The Kagurabachi TV anime premieres in April 2027. Before the premiere, the Kagurabachi Anime World Tour will kick off with an exclusive preview of the first 20 minutes of episode 1 at Anime Expo 2026. Preview screenings will also be held at Anime NYC 2026, Japan Expo Paris, and AnimagiC in “Part 1” of the Kagurabachi Anime World Tour. Fans can also expect special panel sessions with the staff and Kimura. 

Tetsuya Takeuchi directs the Kagurabachi anime at studio Cypic, and Keigo Sasaki handles the character design. Shochiku and CyberAgent are on the production committee.

Takeru Hokazono first released the Kagurabachi manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in September 2023. Shueisha published the manga’s 11th compiled volume in Japan on May 1. The manga has enjoyed massive success and has 4 million copies in circulation.

Kanojo no Tomodachi Anime Premieres in October 2026

The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Jura’s Kanojo no Tomodachi (My Girlfriend’s Friend) manga confirmed the anime’s October 2026 premiere. The main cast, staff, and key visual for the Kanojo no Tomodachi  anime were also revealed.

The main cast includes:

  • Ryūga Nagai as Takeru
  • Sayahana Hanemurasaki as Kaori
  • Miki Hase as Tomoko

Takashi Andō is directing the anime at Quad, and WWWave Corporation and Deregula are credited for production. Gokō Shiraki writes and supervises the series’ scripts. Ryūji Iwata is the character designer and co-chief animation director alongside Akira Koshiishi, Masayuki Fujita, and Konatsu Kumagai. Hiroki Nishiyama is the sound director, Makoto Tōgō is the director of photography, and Junichi Masunaga is the editor. Naoto Awano is the animation producer, Takafumi Suzuki is the producer, and Kazuki Yanase is the publicity producer. Naoki Onimaru is credited for setting production.

Jura launched the manga in Kodansha’s YanMaga Web in May 2021. Kodansha published the manga’s sixth compiled book volume in October 2025.

The story of Kanojo no Tomodachi focuses on Takeru, a high school boy with a girlfriend named Kaori. Kaori confessed her feelings to him and became his first-ever girlfriend, but Kaori’s friend, Tomoko, poses a problem as she begins to seduce him. 

Deregula will also produce a TV anime of Eroki and Shinko Konoshiro’s Ushiro no Shōmen Kamui-san (Kamui-san Directly Behind You) manga this July. There will be on-air and “Deregula” (uncensored) versions of the Ushiro no Shōmen Kamui-san anime when it premieres.
