The staff for the Butt Detective anime have announced that new episodes of the series will start releasing on April 4. A new trailer for the series has also released.
As previously announced, the new episodes will feature an adaptation of Oshiri Dandy the Young manga. The manga focuses on the adventures of the titular Butt Detective’s father. The manga initially released in Shueisha’s Saikyō Jump magazine in 2020. Its 11th compiled book volume will ship on November 5.
The second storyline of the new episodes will center on Butt Detective unraveling the mystery of a message sent to him by Phantom Thief U, while he also faces off against the Phantom Thief Academy. Satoshi Hino will join the cast as Oshiri Dandy (Young), while Mikako Komatsu will play Hehe. Check out the new trailer for the upcoming episodes of Butt Detective below:
Butt Detective initially premiered on NHK International in 2018. The series focuses on a detective with a butt for his face and his partner, a small brown dog named Brown, as they solve crimes. Last year, new episodes started premiering on October 4. Further, the most recent anime film in the franchise, Butt Detective: Star and Moon, premiered in theaters in Japan on March 20, 2025.
