KOEI TECMO has revealed that a port of the original Monster Rancher will be coming in 2019. No platforms have been announced yet, but this is exciting news for Monster Rancher fans! A port of the original Monster Rancher 1 (PSX) is coming in 2019
For those who don’t know, Monster Rancher 1, or Monster Farm 1 in Japan, was released in 1997 on the PlayStation 1. The game was very well known for its unique feature: getting new monsters by using CDs. It will be very interesting to see how this is implemented in the new port.
Are you excited for this port? What platform do you want it to come to? Let us know in the comments!
Not much information is known at this time, but the game is apparently a port of the Vita version with all of the DLC, plus some enhanced graphics. It is said that new features will apparently be present too, but we’ll probably find out more on those later on. The blog post also says that the Nintendo Switch version of Disgaea 5 performed very well apparently.
Disgaea 4 Complete + is coming to the West in Fall 2019, so we should expect a release date announcement soon. Disgaea 4 Complete + is the version of Disgaea 4 Return in the West.
Nintendo and Tencent have seemingly been working together to launch the Nintendo Switch in China. The two companies have just sent out an invitation for a collaborative press conference on August 2nd, 2019 in Shanghai to speak about the Nintendo Switch’s launch in China. Tencent and Nintendo have already gotten approved to distribute Nintendo Switch systems and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe in China by the southern Chinese province of Guangdong. Nintendo’s past in China has been quite interesting. Before mobile games, Nintnedo previously rapped into the Chinese market through IQue players. IQue player was a home console that Nintendo used to make games like a The Legend Of Zelda: Orcarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, Dr. Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, F-Zero X and more. Games from the Famicom, Setellaview, Nintendo 64, Nintendo 64DD, and Nintendo DS download play games were all made available through the IQue Player. It will be interesting to see how the Nintendo Switch performs in China, considering Nintendo’s ips are already well known in that territory.

Initially a Kickstarter project, needless to say, that Chibig’s Studio dream project, Summer In Mara met a huge success on the crowdfunding site with nearly 250k euros. With a premise such as making an action-adventure game with light RPG elements, heavily inspired by Wind Waker and with a Studio Ghibli inspired world, it’s not surprising that many would be highly interested. The 2019 game has however been delayed to February of next year, this is the statement
“Dear Backers,
It’s been a while. We’re sorry for not updating the project during these past months, we’ve been very busy, I hope you can understand.
We want to share with you a couple of things that we have been preparing during this time.
Since the Kickstarter ended, we have been in contact with some publishers interested in Summer in Mara. We’re very grateful to them. They help us a lot, solved our doubts, and teach us some cool things about game dev and publishing. However, we want to make this journey on our own.
We want to learn not only how to make games, but how to publish them and sell them. So we’re going to manage all the things involved in the Summer in Mara release. Thanks to it, we will be closer to you and all of our fans and players. This is the first time that we do something like this, so please be patient with us.
Because of this decision, we will have to delay the game…
The new release date for the game in early February.
We will make updates more frequently from now on. We want to stay in touch with you and get to know what do you think of our development process and the things that we’re making.
So, stay tuned to our next week update, in which we’re going to tell you more about the physical rewards.
See you in Mara!
BONUS EXTRA:
We’re really glad to announce that the game is already working on Nintendo Switch.”
It’s interesting to note that the Nintendo Switch version seems to have the priority here when it comes to consoles as the nearly done game will soon enter the QA Testing phase and ports to other platforms afterward, even though it’s releasing February 2020 worldwide, on Steam, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Rise: Race The Future is a realistic/futuristic racing game developed and published by VD-Dev. Rise: Race The Future is available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and PC. For this review, the game was reviewed on the Nintendo Switch
This game has three different game modes. “Challenges” mode is the first mode to select. In this mode, you complete challenges on different courses. Each course can have multiple challenges/objectives to accomplish. The challenges can be stuff like Stay in the first position, Finish second or better, Don’t finish last, Never be overtaken, Finish the race faster than four minutes, Don’t use boost, Finish third or better, Lap faster than fifty-seven seconds, Finish before a certain car, Hit 212 Km/h, and more. Once you complete enough challenges, you will unlock the next season in the game. As you complete more objectives, you gain more and more fans. Eventually, you can have a massive fanbase. Each season seems to have a different theme in this game. There is a diverse set of maps and locations.
In the “Championship” mode you compete in 8 different championships. In order, the championships are Rise Welcome Championship, Champion Of The Mist, The Ultimate Lap, NR1 Drivers’ Cup, Aqua Racing, Big Car Confrontation, Sunset R.I.C Series, and Ionos World GP. To unlock and participate in these championships, you have to get third place or better in a championship before it. At the rookie difficulty, some of these championships can actually be quite hard. If you crash into a wall or mess up in any other way, it is really difficult to recover. At the very beginning of the race is when you have any margin for error.
“Time Attack” is the last and final game mode. This game mode is exactly what it sounds like, a time attack game mode. In this game mode, you try to get the best lap time you can in each course. You unlock courses in time attack by getting third place or better in championships. In Time Attack, you have the option of turning on a ghost of yourself. This ghost will replicate your exact path of your best time. If you are ahead of the ghost, you will know you are set to get another best time in a certain course. This game mode has infinite replay ability. Getting a best time and trying to one up yourself never gets old.
The gameplay of the game itself is fine, but it could be a lot better. Playing the game with Joycons feels good. The same can be said about playing this game docked with a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. The controls at some points do feel weird though. Every once in awhile, you can get a feeling that you’ve briefly lost control of a car. The water sections of the maps is the Achilles heel of the whole entire game. Driving on the water itself feels strangely odd. The turning completely changes on water. The game becomes a lot harder during these sections. On the water is where I was most likely to mess up a whole entire race. The game and courses overall would be a lot better without these water sections in my opinion. Some courses become as hard as Dark Souls due to the water!
Graphically, the game looks great. Although I can’t say for sure, the game seems to be running at native 720p in handheld mode. For docked mode, I can’t say for sure what resolution the game runs at, but either way, it looks good. The visuals are pretty realistic. Based on my experience, there was no sign of frame rate dips or any issues along those lines.
Online multiplayer is something Rise: Race The Future could greatly benefit from. Unfortunately, this component is completely lacking from the game. There is no way to race with your friends or random folks online. Online multiplayer feels like a given, especially since its a traditional racing game. Hopefully in a future racing title by VD-Dev, multiplayer is available.
Overall this game has its issues, but in the end it is a good game. This take on the futuristic racing genre is very unique, and more realistic to what we may be able to expect in our future. For the price of $16.49, it is well worth the money for anyone seeking a realistic/futuristic arcade racer to pick up and play at home or on the go. There is enough content to justify that price. Despite the lack of online multiplayer, I would recommend this game.
Compulsion Games has announced the next DLC for We Happy Few titled Lightbearer. In this DLC, Wellington Wells’ most beloved rock star, Nick Lightbearer, returns for a brand-new drug-filled story. Heartthrob, artist, and personal train wreck Nick Lightbearer is adored by legions of fans, but clearly not all seems well with Nick claiming his “purples” made him a monster.
This new add-on is a part of the season pass that can be purchased for $19.99 or by itself for $7.99. The Lightbearer DLC will hit Xbox One, PS4, and PC on July 30th. Check out the trailer below!
About We Happy few:
We Happy Few is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial in the city of Wellington Wells. In this alternative 1960s England, conformity is key. You’ll have to fight or blend in with the drug-addled inhabitants, most of whom don’t take kindly to people who won’t abide by their not-so-normal rules.
Discover the retrofuturistic city’s dark history as you play through the intertwined narratives of three quietly rebellious citizens of Wellington Wells, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, as they face their pasts, prepare for the future, and engage in activities that aren’t exactly status quo in the artificially enthused society.
VICE has posted an article about an internal memo from Nintendo, stating that Joy-Con repair will be free for customers going forward, warranties aside. Customers who paid for repair can get a refund.
According to an internal memo Nintendo will no longer charge customers for Joy-Con repairs (even outside the 1 year warranty period), and those who have already paid can apparently get a refund https://t.co/sTpfOV8Id3
“Customers will no longer be requested to provide proof of purchase for Joy-Con repairs,” the internal customer service details say. “Additionally it is not necessary to confirm warranty status. If a customer requests a refund for a previously paid Joy-Con repair […] confirm the prior repair and then issue a refund.”
Recent controversy has sparked with the Joy-Con, as many reports have come in stating that the sticks are drifting or “moving on their own”. This has been a problem for quite some time, and Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith or CSK&D filed a Class-Action lawsuit against Nintendo for it.
The return of the PUBG PTS (Public Test Server) is here for Xbox and PS4 players as it introduces some new features that were previously released on PC. For PUBG fans such as myself, I look forward to new ways to play the game that’s in my opinion the best Battle Royale experience available.
Starting today, July 23rd, the PTS will open up the flood gates for two weeks, closing on August 6th. As a token of their gratitude for helping out testing new features, the team is giving out some BP rewards.
First week participation: 4,000 BP (More than three hours of gameplay required)
Second week participation: 4,000 BP (More than three hours of gameplay required)
Participation for both weeks: Bonus 2,000 BP
Just for participation in the PTS, you will get an easy 10,000 BP. All player data, stats, etc. will not carry over to your live server account.
To find the PTS on both Xbox One and PS4, you can do an easy search on Xbox One and PS4, you can find it in the purchased section of your library.

Our goal is to bring both the Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm expansions to #NintendoSwitch this year.
— Civilization VI: Gathering Storm (@CivGame) July 23, 2019
If you already own Civilization VI on the Nintendo Switch, you’ve likely noticed the lack of both expansions. Thankfully, it looks like you won’t have to wait too long. Thanks to a tweet from the official Civilization twitter, we now know that both expansions are on their way to the Switch! The tweet reads above that the expansions are planned to arrive later this year.
These two DLC are big parts of game, hence why players are so eager to get them ported. Rise and Fall brings a host of new choices and strategies to the game for one. These come in the form of Dark/Golden Ages, Loyalty to your empire, and the ability to appoint governors. Gathering Storm on the other hand, brings a massive amount of solid content. There’s environmental effects, consumable resources, engineering projects, World Congress, scenarios, and more! You can read more about Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm on their respective wiki pages.
Civilization VI is a turn-based strategy 4X game being developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. In it, you take control of a civilization and build it to achieve one of multiple victories over the other players. It’s available on PC, iOS and Nintendo Switch for $59.99.
