KOEI TECMO has revealed that a port of the original Monster Rancher will be coming in 2019. No platforms have been announced yet, but this is exciting news for Monster Rancher fans! The game will apparently be a digital-only release, but regardless it is very exciting that it will be debuting on modern consoles. You can check out the game’s official website in Japan here.

For those who don’t know, Monster Rancher 1, or Monster Farm 1 in Japan, was released in 1997 on the PlayStation 1. The game was very well known for its unique feature: getting new monsters by using CDs. It will be very interesting to see how this is implemented in the new port.
