During AnimeJapan2026, Kadokawa revealed the trailer and new key visual for the upcoming anime adaptation of Syuu and illustrator Nanna Fujimi’s Victoria of Many Faces (Tefuda ga Ōme no Victoria) light novel series, which premieres in July 2026.

The cast of the Victoria of Many Faces anime includes:

  • Chika Anzai as Victoria
  • Shion Wakayama as Nonna
  • Yōhei Azakami as Jeffrey

Nobukage Kimura is directing the anime at Studio DEEN. Naohiro Fukushima is overseeing the series scripts, and Mina Ōsawa is designing the characters for animation. Frontier Works is credited for the original work planning.

Syuu released the Victoria of Many Faces novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in December 2021, with the latest update released in February 2022. Kadokawa published the third novel volume in print in January 2024.

Komo Ushino is drawing a manga adaptation, which launched on Kadokawa’s Flos Comic website in December 2022. Yen Press is also publishing the manga adaptation in English.

Yen Press publishes the manga in English and describes it as follows:

Victoria’s peaceful, everyday existence has begun! Ever since she retired from the espionage world, Victoria’s been living as a civilian, just like she’s always dreamed of. But her past as a spy is hard to run from—even though she turned her back on danger, it can’t stop danger from finding her! You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 2

The staff of the TV anime adaptation of Kocha Agasawa’s You and I Are Polar Opposites manga confirmed that the series will continue with You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 2. You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 1 will end with its 12th episode, and Season 2 was previously slated as the second cour of the first season.  

You and I Are Polar Opposites is streaming on Crunchyroll, and the second season will continue to stream on the same platform outside Japan.

Noa reveals the opening theme song “Lose the Frames (Megane wo Hazushite).” PAS TASTA performs the ending theme song “Pure feat. Eriko Hashimoto.”

Tsutomu Satou’s hit light novel series debuted in 2008 and concluded with the 32nd volume in September 2020. Yen Press publishes the original light novel series and Yu Mori’s The Honor Student at Magic High School spinoff manga.

The Irregular at Magic High School anime first aired in April 2014 and consisted of 26 episodes. A second season, titled The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc, premiered in October 2020 and ran for 13 episodes. Meanwhile, the third season premiered in April 2024.

Additionally, the anime franchise also includes The Irregular at Magic High School: The Movie- The Girl Who Summons the Stars, which aired in 2017. Moreover, The Honor Student at Magic High School manga inspired an anime adaptation, which aired in 2021.

Romelia War Chronicle Anime Reveals Second Key Visual and New Cast Members

Pony Canyon has revealed the second key visual and four new cast members for the upcoming anime adaptation of Ryō Ariyama’s Romelia War Chronicle: Even After Defeating the Demon King, Humanity Still Seems Doomed, So I Formed a Military Force light novel series. As previously announced, the Romelia War Chronicle anime will air in 2026, and the AnimeJapan 2026 stage event confirmed the anime’s two-cour run.

Ariyama launched the light novel series online on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2019. Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko imprint publishes the series in print in Japan, and the series ended with its sixth volume on November 18, 2025. Ryō Kamito launched the manga series on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi platform in January 2022.

Lastly, Seven Seas Entertainment licenses the manga series and describes it as follows:

Goodbye, Lara Anime Reveals 1st Episode Clip and New Visual

Kadokawa has revealed a new clip for the first episode of the Goodbye, Lara (Sayonara Lara) anime during its AnimeJapan 2026 panel, along with a new key visual.

The cast members include Hana Hishikawa as Lara, Nana Kawaishi as Mari Otsu, Rica Fukami who stars as Grace and Ayumu Murase as Luca.

Takushi Koide is directing the series at Kinema Citrus, and Anna Kawahara is overseeing the series scripts. Shiori Tani is the character designer, and Yuma Yamaguchi is composing the music.

Lastly, the official website describes the series as follows:

Once upon a time, there was a mermaid princess named Lara. She grew up surrounded by the love of her father, the King of the Sea, and her sisters. One day, Lala falls in love with a human prince who lives on land, a forbidden love that is not permitted in the world of mermaids. Nevertheless, Lara sets off to the surface, drinking the potion given to her by the witch Grace and transforming into a human.

However, it was a forbidden drug that would disappear like bubbles if he did not find “true love.” Although she was a mermaid princess, Lala longed for love with a human. However, her wish was not granted, and she turned into foam and disappeared into the sea. 200 years later, the mermaid princess Lara is reborn in Lake Biwa, this time to find true love.

Re:ZERO Starting Life in Another World Season 4 Reveals Opening Theme Video and Return of Mini Anime

During AnimeJapan 2026, the staff of the fourth season of Re:ZERO Starting Life in Another World unveiled the creditless opening video. The Re:ZERO Starting Life in Another World Season 4 staff also revealed that the mini-anime will return with its own fourth season.

Konomi Suzuki and Ashnikko perform the Re:ZERO Season 4 opening theme song “Reconnect.” The opening theme was performed on the AnimeJapan2026 stage. The season’s ending theme, “Ender Ember” is performed by returning MYTH & ROID in collaboration with TK of Ling tosite sigure.

The fourth season will premiere on April 8 and will consist of 19 episodes divided into two arcs. The season will debut with “The Loss Arc”. Then, “The Recapture Arc” will begin on August 12. Crunchyroll will stream the anime’s fourth season.

Tomokazu Sugita joins the cast of the fourth season as Reid Astrea. The cast also includes Kengo Kawanishi as Roy Alphard, Konomi Kohara as Rui Arneb, and Fairouz Ai as Shaula.

Skybound Games and Quarter Up have released a new gameplay trailer for Invincible VS, revealing playable character Conquest. Universa and The Immortal will be available as DLC characters with the Year 1 Character Pass.

Based on the Invincible comic book and animated series, Invincible VS is a 3v3 tag fighter which will include many fan-favorite characters. Quarter Up, a studio under Skybound, is developing the game. The team is led by some of the developers behind of the 2013 Killer Instinct game. 

Additionally, Invincible VS will feature motion inputs and a Content Creator Mode. After lots of fan feedback, motion inputs will co-exist alongside easy inputs within the game. The new Content Creator Mode will disable all the gore, violence, and blood that could get content creators demonetized on their platforms. 

Invincible VS will release on April 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows and Steam. In addition, pre-orders for Invincible VS include the Zero Suit Mark skin and 4 color variants as an added bonus.

Kindergarten WARS Anime Premieres in Spring 2027

Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced the TV anime adaptation of Yū Chiba’s Kindergarten WARS manga series will premiere in spring 2027. A new promotional video and key visual for Kindergarten WARS were also revealed at AnimeJapan 2026.

Shinsuke Gomi directs the Kindergarten WARS anime at Sunrise. Felix Film is also animating the series. Junko Yamanaka is the character designer.

The main cast of the anime adaptation includes Atsumi Tanezaki as Rita and Kentarō Kumagai as Doug.

Chiba launched the manga series on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and website in September 2022. Shueisha published the manga’s 15th compiled book volume on August 4, and over 1.7 million copies are in circulation. Chiba’s Kindergarten WARS -LUKE- spinoff manga launched in November 2024 as a 180-page story about the character Luke.

Shueisha’s MANGA Plus website publishes the Kindergarten WARS manga digitally in English. Yen Press published the manga’s first volume physically this past April. Here’s an overview of the story, via Yen Press:

During the AnimeJapan 2026 stage event for The Eminence in Shadow, a new trailer for The Eminence in Shadow – Lost Echoes was shown, confirming the anime film’s 2027 opening in theaters in Japan.

Kazuya Nakanishi directs the film, and Kanichi Katōu is in charge of screenplay. Makoto Iino handles the character designs, which are based on the original character designs by Tōzai. 

Seiichiro Yamashita reprises his role as Cid Kageno / Shadow in The Eminence in Shadow – Lost Echoes.

Daisuke Aizawa’s The Eminence in Shadow light novel series debuted in 2018. A manga adaptation by Anri Sakano began serialization in Kadokawa’s Comp Ace magazine in 2019. The first season of the anime premiered in October 2022, and the second season ran for 12 episodes starting October 4, 2023. Both seasons are streaming on HIDIVE.

During EVO Awards 2026, Gameplay Group International and PM Studios announced that upcoming fighting game Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will launch on July 2 for $29.99 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
