Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Wilds will have an updated “Prioritize Performance” mode after feedback from fans during the open beta. Players can prioritize either graphics with a projected framerate of 30 FPS or framerate at 60 FPS. Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC will have these modes.

Capcom is also considering a free benchmark tool for Monster Hunter Wilds on PC. This tool will allow players to test out their PC’s hardware and see if their setup is capable of running the game at the levels of performance they want.

Capcom initially revealed Monster Hunter Wilds at The Game Awards 2023, with brief gameplay footage and a 2025 release date. The game can be wishlisted on storefronts now. This will be the first major Monster Hunter title since Monster Hunter Rise. Recently, Capcom released an overview trailer of the game’s basic mechanics, as well as a look at the heavy bowgun, insect glaive, gunlance, hunting horn, long sword, charge blade, hammer, light bowgun, sword & shield, switch axe, bow, lance, and dual blade weapons.
A previous trailer showed off more details for the game’s story, gameplay, and monsters. Monster Hunter Wilds will release on February 28, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and you can check out our preview of the game here.

Story
A few years past, a young boy named Nata was rescued at the border of the Forbidden Lands, an unexplored region the guild has yet to survey.

Environments within the Forbidden Lands can drastically change as the weather shifts constantly and suddenly. During the harsh Fallow and perilous Inclemency periods, ravenous monsters will venture out to hunt in packs, yet during the Plenty periods, wildlife is rich and abundant.
