ATLUS and Vanillaware’s tactical fantasy RPG Unicorn Overlord exceeded 500,000 copies sold. The latest sales milestone includes physical shipments and digital copies sold across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Vanillaware brings forth the “rebirth” of tactical fantasy RPGs in Unicorn Overlord. Alain, the protagonist and prince of Cornia, is chosen to lead the Liberation Army and battle the forces of Zenoira in order to return peace to Fevrith. Many Vanillaware fans in Japan and abroad were excited to play the new game, helping it become one of the fastest selling titles in the company’s history.
Unicorn Overlord Sells Half a Million Copies in a Few Weeks
A Japanese YouTube trailer for Unicorn Overlord confirms that the game surpassed 500,000 copies sold. The video was uploaded on March 21, and it was recently spotted by Wario64 on Twitter.
On March 8, the day one update added support for save data transfers from the Unicorn Overlord demo. The Normal difficulty is included with the update as well. This particular difficulty level is identical to the Casual difficulty level that was found in the demo.
