    Final Fantasy XIV x Final Fantasy XVI Collaboration Coming Early April

    Plenty of surprise coming soon.

    Square Enix has officially revealed the release date of the Final Fantasy XIVFinal Fantasy XVI collaboration. Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival Tokyo 2024 is currently ongoing, which is where this news came from. This collab will launch in-game in early April, with a final release date coming probably in late February or March. The collaboration was originally announced back in October at the London Fan Fest.

    Tonight, the company also revealed a new job called Pictomancer, which is based on the same job in Final Fantasy VI. This job allows you to draw magic spells in the form of a giant brush and paint palette. Additionally, a new town called Solution Nine was revealed, alongside all sorts of new raids and items.     We’ll be sure to update you on this exciting Final Fantasy XIV collaboration as more information is released. In the meantime, here’s an overview of some new content coming with Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail via Square Enix

    • New Job – The “Viper”, a close-range fighter using two one-handed blades that can be combined into a single two-handed weapon.
    • New City – Tuliyollal, the seat of the federal nation-state governing Tural, located in the Northern Reaches of Yok Tural.
    • New Areas – The tropical region of Kozama’uka, replete with myriad rivers, streams and waterfalls, and the arid region of Shaaloani, spanning vast rain-starved plains across which a railroad is being constructed.
    • New Allied Tribe – The Moblins, a people residing in the jungles of Kozama’uka who bear a strong resemblance to the goblins with whom they share common ancestry.
    • New Threats – Eliminator
    • New Alliance Raid – Echoes of Vana’diel, a crossover series with Final Fantasy XI.
    • New Limited Job – Planned for release in the latter half of the Patch 7.x series.

    Final Fantasy XIV is now available across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC. An Xbox Series X|S version is set to launch in open beta this February. Final Fantasy XVI is available now exclusively for PlayStation 5.
