Square Enix revealed several new details about the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail expansion, including a new Alliance Raid collaboration with Final Fantasy XI. Before Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail releases, fans may experience a collaboration questline with Final Fantasy XVI.
Square Enix is hosting Final Fantasy XIV London Fan Festival 2023, which is a two-day event celebrating the MMORPG. Producer Naoki Yoshida hosted a keynote that revealed a lot of new information about the upcoming Dawntrail expansion.
Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail – New FF XI Alliance Raid, Job, and More
Alongside a major graphical update, Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail will introduce the new Viper job, which is a close-range fighter with two one-handed blades that may be combined into one. Players may also look forward to a new limited job. Players will explore several new areas in the land known as Tural, including the city of Tuliyollal and the arid region of Shaaloani. While exploring the tropical region of Kozama’uka, players may gain allies in the Moblins tribe. Moreover, the Echoes of Vana’diel Alliance Raid series will begin at some point during the patch 7.x series.
Here’s an overview of the new content, via Square Enix:
- New Job – The “Viper”, a close-range fighter using two one-handed blades that can be combined into a single two-handed weapon.
- New City – Tuliyollal, the seat of the federal nation-state governing Tural, located in the Northern Reaches of Yok Tural.
- New Areas – The tropical region of Kozama’uka, replete with myriad rivers, streams and waterfalls, and the arid region of Shaaloani, spanning vast rain-starved plains across which a railroad is being constructed.
- New Allied Tribe – The Moblins, a people residing in the jungles of Kozama’uka who bear a strong resemblance to the goblins with whom they share common ancestry.
- New Threats – Eliminator
- New Alliance Raid – Echoes of Vana’diel, a crossover series with Final Fantasy XI.
- New Limited Job – Planned for release in the latter half of the Patch 7.x series.

Final Fantasy XVI Collaboration
During the 6.x series of patches, Final Fantasy XIV players may look forward to a new collaboration questline with Final Fantasy XVI titled “The Path Infernal.” A release date for the new quest was not announced, however.
The Fall Guys collaboration will begin on October 31 with patch 6.51. Moreover, the Xbox Series X|S open beta test for Final Fantasy XIV will launch between mid-January and February 2024.
Lastly, Final Fantasy XIV and the latest expansion, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, are available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail launches in summer 2024.
