The official website for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Ayaka Katayama’s Fungus and Iron (Kin to Tetsu) manga has confirmed the anime’s director and production at studio Yokohama Animation Lab. Keitarō Motonaga (The Beginning After The End, Date A Live Seasons 1-3) is directing the Fungus and Iron anime.
A new key visual for the upcoming anime was also revealed:
Katayama launched the Fungus and Iron manga in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in March 2021. The manga went on hiatus in August 2021 when Katayama went on maternity leave, and it later resumed serialization in March 2022.
Kodansha published the first compiled book volume in July 2021, and the series will end serialization on September 9. The 10th and final volume will release on October 8. Kodansha USA released the ninth volume in English digitally on July 21, 2026.
