Be Missed and Remembered: The Letter from Mayoiga Releases on Steam on July 10

Be Missed and Remembered: The Letter from Mayoiga Releases on Steam on July 10

NEKONEKO-SOFT and OVERLAP GAMES have announced that Be Missed and Remembered: The Letter from Mayoiga will release on PC via Steam on July 10. A demo is available now.

Be Missed and Remembered: The Letter from Mayoiga is a visual novel that features Tomo Kataoka, the creator of the Narcissu series, as the lead writer. The Steam page describes the game as follows:

The setting is 50 years ago, 1972 (Showa 47). The protagonist, a high school student, is heading to his grandparents’ countryside home. A short trip taken during summer vacation, a yearly tradition. Spending time with his sister, peacefully interacting with the villagers, but…

“Do not enter the mountains. You will be cursed.” There seems to be such a legend in the village. People believed that monsters lived in the mountains, and if cursed, terrible things would happen. “The era of moon rockets — it’s completely unscientific.” The protagonist doesn’t believe it at all, but there’s another reason. He had actually seen the monster’s lair before. He knew it was just an old shrine.

Without hesitation, he set out again toward the forbidden place. Walking through the countless torii gates that stood exposed in the mountains, he finally saw the old shrine rising from the lake once more. Without hesitation, he entered the shrine, but then a strange question arose…Why hadn’t I entered here before? Having come this far, he should have gone inside, but for some reason, he couldn’t remember anything from that time.

“Looks like you’ve grown taller?” A voice rang out. He recognized the voice’s owner. More precisely, it was something he remembered once inside. “…How many years have passed since then?” “Five years and three days.” We met again, after 1827 days. Neither of us bothered to ask for names. We already knew each other. But this “knowing” wasn’t something guaranteed for the future…

It falls into the sewers, then further down into… a movie theater? Wait, is that a jet plane? Why are we in the Old West now? What are cowboys doing underground??? Turns out that deep below Manhattan , there’s an underground dungeon where America’s past lives on! Will Scott be able to traverse it deep enough to find his ring?

Explore America’s history… turned into a dungeon! This weird dungeon is a collection of the culture and memories of decades past. The golden age of cinema, the space race, the Old West…If you want to take a taste of America’s past, UNDERGROUNDED will offer you a full-course dinner. So, what’s your favorite decade?

Do you think America’s history is too much for one shy Manhattan boy (or for an inexperienced gamer) to tackle on his own? Worry not! You have a great ally on your quest: a talkative, cheerful canary! If a puzzle has got you stumped, listen to your bird friend. He might just have the hint you need.

Scott isn’t the only one who found his way into the underground dungeon. A lot of different people who have lost something are there to find it too. Help them out and maybe, just maybe, that will help Scott’s life change for the better as well.

Right, I forgot to mention one thing. There are terrifying, powerful bosses waiting for you in the dungeon! But don’t despair: Scott has a mysterious power. If he finds a retro game cabinet and plays it, strange things happen in the world around him! Play several nostalgic homages to ’80s arcade masterpieces to find a way to defeat those bosses!

Deltarune Chapter 6 Aiming for 2027 Release

Deltarune Chapter 6 Aiming for 2027 Release

In a new FAQ on Deltarune‘s Steam page, Toby Fox has revealed that he is aiming to release Deltarune Chapter 6 in 2027. The announcement comes just a few days after the release of Chapter 5

In response to the frequently-asked question of “…When’s Chapter 6?” Fox responds with, “We are aiming for a 2027 release! Meanwhile, we will be periodically releasing information on the development progress of the game.” Additionally, in a recent newsletter, Toby Fox offered more updates on the future of Deltarune:

Chapter 6 is developing well.

    • Cutscenes / NPC interactions: Making good progress.
    • Overworld gameplay: We’ve created all the basic gimmicks of the chapter. (Gimmick = climbing, puzzles, etc.) Now, we need to create a few more rooms utilizing these gimmicks.
    • Normal enemies & bullets: Mostly complete.
    • Boss & bullets: We are working on the bullets of the last battle of the chapter.

This Chapter is easier to make than the others, so the development is going quite fast.

This sounds crazy, but it’s not unrealistic that some staff members may start working on Chapter 7 before the end of the year.

It is unknown whether or not Deltarune Chapter 6 will release on its own, similarly to Chapter 5, or release alongside Chapter 7, similar to the release of Chapters 1-4. Toby Fox will likely reveal more details about the future of the series in the coming months. In the meantime, Deltarune Chapters 1-4 are available now for $24.99 on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PC, and Mac. Chapter 5 is also available now, via a free update on all of the aforementioned platforms.
