CODE VEIN II Update 1.0.7 is Now Available

CODE VEIN II update 1.0.7

Bandai Namco has released the patch notes for CODE VEIN II update 1.0.7, revealing that performance and stability improvements for field loading and VFX processing load were applied. CODE VEIN II update 1.0.7 also brings some new features, including a difficulty selection feature.

Patch notes for CODE VEIN II update 1.0.7 can be read below, via Bandai Namco’s official website.

CODE VEIN II Update 1.0.7 Patch Notes

Optimizations for All Platforms

  • Optimized the collision data for certain objects and structures in the field to reduce processing load.
  • Optimized the initialization process that occurs when enemies spawn to reduce processing load.
  • Reduced the processing load of several partner outfits.
  • Optimized enemy spawning to reduce stuttering while riding the motorcycle.
  • These consist of further improvements to the optimizations implemented in Ver. 1.0.6.
  • Reduced the processing load of attack effects for certain boss enemies.
  • Reduced the processing load of effects used in certain weapon formae and magic formae.
  • Reduced the processing load of hit effects for certain weapon formae and magic formae.

Feature additions and improvements

1. Addition of a difficulty selection feature for additional playthroughs.

  • We have added an Enhance Enemy Difficulty During Replay option to the Game Settings.
  • This setting is enabled by default.
  • When you replay the game using your save data, enemies will be stronger and you will earn more Haze when defeating them; however, turning this setting off will restore enemies to their original strength and Haze drops to those of the first playthrough.

2. Addition of an Affinity display and adjustments to the mechanic; additions of Trade and Gift features.

2-1: We added a UI that displays your Affinity with your Partner.

  • You can check your Affinity in the Change Partner and Gift screens at a Mistletoe.
  • For some Partners, the Affinity is hidden at the start, but it will become visible once you reach the point in the story where you can give them gifts.
  • Affinity is divided into three categories: Exploration, Story, and Gifts, each with their own maximum limit. To reach 100% Affinity, you must raise all three categories to their maximum limits.
  • Exploration Affinity increases by adventuring with your partners and defeating enemies. Affinity increases more slowly when defeating enemies weaker than the player’s level.
  • Story Affinity increases by completing Quests received from your partners and advancing each of their individual episodes. Lou gives no quests; her Story Affinity increases by progressing through the main story.
  • Gift Affinity increases by giving your partners food or valuables.

2-2: Adjustments to Affinity increase rates.

  • We adjusted the Gifting feature by increasing the amount of affinity gained when giving Favorite and Loved items.
  • We have increased the amount of Affinity gained when defeating enemies in the field.
  • We have eased Affinity drop reductions when defeating enemies weaker than the player.

※We have adjusted Affinity drops so that defeating enemies that appear in the main story starting from Luna Rapacis and enemies that appear in second playthroughs or later will increase Affinity by a fixed amount, even if the enemies are significantly weaker than the player. The adjustments to enemies that appear in additional playthroughs are only effective when the Enhance Enemy Difficulty During Replay feature is turned on.

2-3:In the past Free Exploration Era, we made it possible to trade and give gifts to Noah.

  • You can trade or give gifts by talking to Noah in Past MagMell. Your trade inventory is shared with Noah in the Present.

2-4:We have added Jadwiga’s Minions who sell Valuables.

  • Once you clear the Sealing Spire or replay the game, Yadwiga’s Minions (shop) will appear in MagMell selling Valuables, and you will be able to purchase these items with Haze.

3. New Character Customization Features

  • We have added Bangs to the Accessories section in the character customization options.

※In addition to the accessory updates included in Version 1.05, we have added new bangs parts.

  • Added new hairstyles to the character customization options.
  • Added new presets to the character customization options.

〈Only for those who own the Ultimate Content Set〉

Added customizable versions of the costumes based on the Partner Characters’ outfits from CODE VEIN.

※The customizable versions allow you to change colors and remove parts.

4. Addition of an option to automatically collect items

We have added an option to automatically collect items in the Game Settings.

  • This option is turned off by default.
  • When turned on, you can collect items simply by touching them on the field. Automatic collection is also enabled while riding the motorcycle.

5. Addition of an option in Photo Mode to Turn Off Wind Effects

  • We have added a toggle to turn wind effects on or off under Environment in Photo Mode.
  • It is enabled by default.
  • This setting only disables the effect of wind on characters; it does not affect the swaying of trees, flags, and other objects in the field caused by the wind.

6. Improvements to sound effects for heavy weapons

  • We have replaced the hit sound effects for the following weapon types and bequeathed formae with more impactful ones.

*Two-Handed Sword, Hammer, Warhammer of the Fool, Battle Axe: Idris’s Conceit.
