From August 9 to August 10, the ONE PIECE DAY ’25 two-day event was a celebration of the prolific One Piece franchise at the renowned Tokyo Big Sight. ONE PIECE DAY ’25 was possible through the long-running partnership between Bandai Namco Entertainment, Shueisha, and Toei Animation, and the event featured immersive exhibits, major celebrity appearances, and live performances. The main stage was streamed globally on the One Piece official YouTube channel globally and simultaneously translated into English.

The ONE PIECE DAY ’25 main exhibition hall transported fans into the One Piece universe through 3D displays, original illustration reproductions, and photo opportunities. What’s more, the event marked the first-ever appearance by LEGO Japan, which presented a LEGO One Piece showcase that captured the world of the Netflix live-action series. The exhibit featured recreations of scenes from the show, fully built with LEGO bricks, along with an interactive fan mosaic activity. There was also a One Piece Base Shop with previews of upcoming product lines ahead of the store’s grand opening this winter.

The main stage of ONE PIECE DAY ’25 kicked off with a performance by Hiroshi Kitadani, who has sung numerous opening themes for the anime. His performances of “We Are!” and “We Go!” kept fans excited heading into the One Piece Special Stage, which focused on the Netflix series.

On stage, Kappei Yamaguchi connected via a Transponder snail to Iñaki Godoy, the live-action actor for Monkey D. Luffy. Godoy playfully remarked in Japanese, “I’ve never been to ONE PIECE DAY before… I really want to go… You know what? I’m coming!” Moments later, he appeared from the back of the audience to loud cheers.

The stage also debuted a first look into ONE PIECE Season 2: INTO THE GRAND LINE, which will premiere in 2026 on Netflix. In addition, Season 3 was officially confirmed, and fans in attendance erupted in applause.

The Egghead Arc Voice Actors’ Special Stage went on next with voice actors Akemi Okamura (Nami), Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp), Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji), Ikue Ōtani (TonyTony Chopper), Yuriko Yamaguchi (Nico Robin), Katsuhisa Hōki (Jinbe), and Reiko Takagi (Jewelry Bonney). The cast shared behind-the-scenes stories from the recording sessions, and iconic scenes from the arc were performed on stage.

Takagi shared some memories from the anime, stating that she was already in tears from the moment she received the script. In addition, the event featured an announcement for an anime adaptation of ONE PIECE novel HEROINES, with key visuals unveiled.

The annual ONE PIECE Knowledge King Battle “Paramount War” was held at ONE PIECE DAY ’25. The semifinals were held during the Premiere Eve on Saturday, August 9, where frontrunner Kyan, a multiple-time top finisher, was crowned champion. Kyan said, “I have no words. I truly love One Piece, and I wanted more than anything to be No. 1.”

After the semifinals, fans were treated to a surprise screening of a brand-new anime ONE PIECE in LOVE: FESTIVAL EVE SPECIAL. The anime was adapted from ONE PIECE in LOVE Chapter 159, ONE PIECE DAY ’25 Experience.

The Final Program Brings the Hype

The final program on the main stage kicked off with a performance of “UUUUUS!” by Hiroshi Kitadani. GRe4N BOYZ, the artist behind the EGGHEAD Arc opening theme song “ANGEL & DEVIL,” also appeared via video to deliver a special message to fans. GRe4N BOYZ explained that they were unable to attend due to their tour, and they asked Kitadani to perform the song on their behalf. Wen asked how it felt to sing the song, Kitadani said, “When I sang the lyric ‘掌 (tenohira),’ it really moved me.”

After the medley of opening theme songs, muque took the stage to perform the ending theme song “The 1.” CHAMELEON LIME WHOOPIEPIE followed up with their first live performance of “PUNKS” in front of the audience. The grand finale featured Kitadani’s performances of “OVER THE TOP” and “ONE DAY.”

The EGGHEAD Arc cast and actor Iñaki Godoy were joined by other stage guests in a powerful group sing-along of “We Are!,” which echoed throughout the hall and venue. “It was my first ONE PIECE DAY, and I’d love to come every year—keep enjoying One Piece,” said Godoy. A surprise video message from Mayumi Tanaka, the voice of Luffy, closed the show: “You all are my NAKAMA (lit. crewmate)!!”

At the venue entrance, an over 7-meter-tall balloon of Prince Loki, a key character from the ongoing ELBAPH Arc, welcomed fans to ONE PIECE DAY ’25. The balloon served as the gateway to the EPISODE OF ELBAPH Exhibit, which featured reproduced illustrations and 3D displays.

The LEGO ONE PIECE booth was designed to resemble the Going Merry. It offered a variety of interactive experiences and activities, including a display recreating the iconic moment when Shanks entrusts Luffy with his straw hat. The Transponder snail was also there, a photo spot allowed fans to snap photos of the Straw Hat Pirates aboard the Going Merry, and there was also an opportunity to help complete a large mosaic artwork using LEGO bricks.

A booth for the upcoming One Piece Base Shop was also present with product samples that are currently in development. A special corner was dedicated to the newly launched project CHOPPER’s, which imagines Chopper living alongside us in the real world. Exclusive clear photo cards and bandages were handed out to fans who follow the CHOPPER’s official X (formerly Twitter) or Instagram account. There were also more photo opportunities, as the booth and venue made for compelling backdrops.

Attendees received a special “ONE PIECE FAV Card” as a giveaway item, which can be worn around the neck. Fans could personalize their cards by writing the name of their favorite character, adding illustrations, or decorating them with stickers. At the on-site “FAV” Card Lounge, fans were encouraged to form groups of three with others who shared the same favorite character or crew affiliation. Those who succeeded received an exclusive original sticker.
