The first season of The Apothecary Diaries ended with Lakan and the courtesan finally being together, ending a long chapter in the story of Lakan and Maomao’s lives. His daughter is finally moving on from her resentment toward him, and there’s going to be a lot of intriguing, and potentially dangerous, developments back at the palace. Jinshi and Maomao might have their work cut out for them in the second season, but plenty of people in the palace will lend a helping hand.
