Chapter 20 of Boruto Two Blue Vortex is a short but important chapter that hints at some imminent danger. We got new Mangekyo Sharingan powers, Ryu’s demise, and Boruto’s big mistake. While we must wait another month for the next chapter, let’s discuss what happened within Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 21 and what we can expect in chapter 22.
Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 21 starts with several flashbacks Sarada has in her mind. She thinks about her friends, Naruto, Sasuke, and everyone she loves. She also recalls the events that took place after Eida’s omnipotence took over the world. In the past, she felt so powerless that she couldn’t do anything about all the calamities. She also admits that she rejected so many feelings, not realizing that she was also rejecting her own true powers.
Sarada Awakens Her True Power in Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 21 (Spoilers Ahead)
To keep everyone safe, Sarada tells Mitsuki to take Yodo and Araya and guard them. All of a sudden, we see so many black spheres surrounding Ryu. No matter how many times Ryu tries to use his Iron Sand, they all end up getting sucked within them. The spheres seem to exert a gravitational pull, and Sarada can pick which objects will be affected by it. Ryu tries to go for an aggressive attack, but gets pinned to one of the black spheres. Before killing him, Sarada states that she is no longer looking away. If she wants to become Hokage, she has to be able to save people and tackle the realities in front of her.
As a result of killing Ryu, his Thorn Soul Bulb is in plain sight, waiting to be acquired. We then see Kashin Koji and Eida relieved about Ryu’s demise. While Eida mentions that it’s a shame that Yodo died, Koji reminded her that it was the only way. Of course, Boruto didn’t really take too kindly to this. Because he found out that Koji knew about Yodo’s eventual death, Boruto asked him if Konohamaru has any chance against Matsuri in their fight. Koji’s silence afterward instantly has Boruto worried. Despite Koji reminding him that Jura will kill Boruto if he interferes, Boruto escapes to save Konohamaru and kill Matsuri regardless. We then see Jura appearing in his lair, finally locating Boruto’s whereabouts.
What Could Be Next?
I predict that Boruto might not die here, and that this new turn of events might go in Koji’s favor. I’m unsure how, but I don’t see Boruto dying anytime soon, especially since he still has to fight Kawaki. Also, while we do see the Thorn Soul Bulb in plain sight, no one has taken it yet. I think someone might end up taking his Soul Bulb and resurrecting Ryu. But, of course, we won’t know anything until the next chapter releases!
