The situation also made Jinshi and Maomao reflect on past incidents and the conspiracy involving the lives of concubines being endangered in the rear palace.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 episode 31 premieres on Friday, February 21 at 9:15 a.m. PST / 12:15 p.m. EST on Crunchyroll. If true, then Jinshi has been preparing for something since he was a very young child, as teased in a flashback in the preview. Whatever happens, Maomao will be at his side like usual.
