Capcom has released the physical edition of Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 today for $49.99 at retail. The physical release for Xbox One will follow up in 2025 alongside Capcom Fighting Collection 2.
Fans who pre-ordered the Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics physical edition receive a tie-in comic, seeing the fate of the two worlds at stake once more. The comic’s story was scripted by Christos Gage, with art by Alberto Jiménez Alburquerque.
The collection includes X-Men Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, and The Punisher. The games support rollback netcode, training mode, and other quality of life features.
Capcom initially announced Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics during the June 2024 Nintendo Direct. The collection was playable at EVO 2024, and it even reached the #1 spot for video game releases on Amazon. This release is monumental for numerous reasons, with many fans excited to play a modern release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age Of Heroes, which was formerly trapped on older consoles like the SEGA Dreamcast.
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will continue Capcom’s fighting game resurgence in 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The collection will include the following games: Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER, Project Justice, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, and Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein. Lastly, it also features rollback netcode, training mode, extended language support, and more content.
