Nintendo has announced that the Kirby Air Riders Sword Kirby & Dragoon and Noir Dedede & Hydra amiibo will release on November 12. In addition to the new amiibo, an upcoming Kirby Air Riders event will bring new rewards and a new look to the main menu and Paddock.
Available now for Nintendo Switch 2, Kirby Air Riders is the sequel to Kirby Air Ride, the beloved GameCube game that was released in 2003. Masahiro Sakurai returned to direct the title, bringing back many of the modes from the original, in addition to over a dozen playable characters. The fast-paced action is a wild contrast from Mario Kart World, offering a unique experience for Switch 2 players.
Final Weapon reviewed Kirby Air Riders and gave it a 4.5/5 score, explaining that “Kirby Air Riders is absurdly challenging to get into. The controls are complicated, and the process of unlocking things is a mess. But when you eventually understand the gameplay mechanics, the sheer amount of content, the thrilling races, and the modes like City Trial and Road Trip, will keep you engaged no matter how long you play. To celebrate the franchise’s 35th anniversary, Nintendo announced Kirby and the World Beyond, a brand-new 3D adventure game for Nintendo Switch 2. Kirby and the World Beyond will launch in spring 2027, and a new trailer was released at the September 9 Nintendo Direct.
