In a new investors meeting, Remedy Entertainment gave a production update on several of their upcoming games. These include Control 2, the Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes, Codename Condor, and Project Kestrel.
Over the last few years, Remedy has had a major resurgence. This has come courtesy of both 2019’s Control and 2023’s Alan Wake 2. The latter is the latest entry in “Remedy Entertainment’s Connected Universe.” The franchise includes the first Alan Wake, Quantum Break, and Control. It is unknown if their new upcoming multiplayer game, Kestrel, will be included in the franchise. Recently, Remedy also acquired the full rights to the Control series, allowing them full creative and financial freedom on the series.
Remedy Gives Update on Several Upcoming Games
In a new investors document, Remedy Entertainment revealed production updates for several of their upcoming games. They confirmed that they have spent the first quarter of 2024 working on DLC for Alan Wake 2. The release date for the DLC is currently unknown. In the second quarter, they will be starting full production on the remakes for Max Payne 1 & 2. Codename Condor, the multiplayer spin-off of the Control franchise, is also in full production.
Control 2 will advance to the production readiness stage in Q2 2024. Finally, Kestrel, a “premium co-op game” is currently in the concept stage. Remedy will likely reveal more details about each of the games mentioned above in the coming months.
Remedy has had a history of making artistically ambitious games since their start in the early 2000s. This includes the Max Payne series, Alan Wake, Quantum Break, Control, and the recently released Alan Wake 2. Lastly, Alan Wake 2 is available now on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Remedy will likely confirm more details on the game’s DLC and more in the coming weeks and months.
