Sony Interactive Entertainment and SHIFT UP released a new behind the scenes video for action RPG Stellar Blade titled “The Journey.” Various behind the scenes videos will be released over time.

Stellar Blade recently went gold, meaning that development for the new game is complete at studio SHIFT UP. Before launch, fans can play the new Stellar Blade demo, which includes content up to the game’s first boss in the first section. Following the release of the demo, SHIFT UP began to release new videos about the game’s characters and development.

In “The Journey (Behind The Scenes)” video, SHIFT UP CEO Kim Hyung Tae, Stellar Blade system designer Hyung Min Lee, level designer Jiyeon Lee, concept artist Chang Min Lee, and monster designer Jang Hee-Cheol discuss the development of Stellar Blade

The full game and demo supports Korean, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Latin Spanish voice overs. In addition, Stellar Blade supports Korean, English (US), French, Italian, German, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Arabic, Turkish, Thai, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese text options.

Stellar Blade is developed by SHIFT UP and directed by CEO Kim Hyung Tae. The new action game was inspired by NieR: Automata and Bayonetta, with a strong emphasis on a single-player story and intricate combo system. Pre-orders for Stellar Blade went live on February 7, just one week after January 31 State of Play.

Moreover, SHIFT UP is hiring for a new project coming to consoles, PC, and mobile platforms. The new project will be a “next-gen AAA urban science-fiction action RPG” developed in Unreal Engine 5.

Lastly, Stellar Blade launches on April 26, exclusively for PlayStation 5. A PC version was not announced. Stellar Blade will be sold physically and digitally worldwide, thanks to PlayStation’s second-party agreement as publisher of the new action game.
