Stellar Blade developer and Seoul-based studio SHIFT UP is hiring for a new sci-fi action RPG project coming to consoles, PC, and mobile platforms. This new project will apparently be “next-gen.”
Besides Stellar Blade, SHIFT UP is also known for the highly popular Goddess of Victory: NIKKE mobile game. The mobile game recently collaborated with the Re:ZERO Starting Life in Another World anime, and it appears that the studio has many more plans for the future after Stellar Blade.
SHIFT UP Shifts to a New Cross-Platform Sci-fi Action RPG
SHIFT UP is now hiring programmers, monster and character concept artists, a scenario writer, and more to work on an unannounced cross-platform next-gen project. The new project by SHIFT UP will be a “AAA urban science-fiction action RPG,” according to the company’s recruitment website. It will be available on consoles, PC, and mobile devices, and the game itself is built in Unreal Engine. Monsters and creatures will appear as enemies. Further details were not announced, however.
Here’s a list of the open positions at SHIFT UP, via Gematsu:

- Monster Concept Artist
- Character Concept Artist
- Animator
- Scenario Writer
Meanwhile, fans can try out the recently released Stellar Blade demo, which includes content up to the game’s first boss in the first section. Save data from the demo transfers into the full game, allowing players to continue from where they left off with EVE. Before the game launches, fans can watch a new vignette featuring the protagonist herself.
Lastly, Stellar Blade launches on April 26, exclusively for PlayStation 5. A PC version was not announced. Stellar Blade will be sold physically and digitally worldwide, thanks to PlayStation’s second-party agreement as publisher of the new action game. Pre-orders for Stellar Blade are available now.
