REYNATIS Gets NEO: The World Ends With You Crossover Art for April Fools

    Shibuya experiences an "interference."

FuRyu’s official website for REYNATIS experienced a “glitch” on April Fools Day, revealing crossover art with Square Enix’s NEO: The World Ends With You. These technical difficulties saw the Shibuya of REYNATIS receive some “interference” from the Shibuya that TWEWY fans are familiar with.

Development of REYNATIS is led by FuRyu’s Takumi Isobe and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth writer Kazushige Nojima, with Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts series, Final Fantasy XV) composing the game’s music. This new action RPG also inspiration from the cancelled Final Fantasy Versus XIII title and Kingdom Hearts, as fans explore a world where fantasy meets reality in Shibuya. Of course, Shibuya also serves as the main setting of Square Enix’s TWEWY series.

REYNATIS x NEO: The World Ends With You Art

The crossover art for REYNATIS and NEO: The World Ends With You sees the protagonists of the new title, Marin Kirizumi (VA: Chiaki Kobayashi) and Sari Nishijima (VA: Akari Kito), stand with the latter’s cast. The artwork is part of an April Fools joke on the official REYNATIS website, which both the Japanese TWEWY Twitter account also teased fans with.

Update – 4/1 – Additional art featuring Marin and Rindo released:

Both REYNATIS protagonists may switch to Liberation Mode to deal damage to their targets. While in this mode, Marin and Sari gain a red and blue aura respectively. With proper timing, dodging enemy attacks and switching into Liberation Mode will allow the characters to deal homing attacks to all enemies. This attack is very similar to Kingdom Hearts‘ Shotlock mechanic.

REYNATIS will launch on July 25 starting at 7,980 yen for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in Japan. A physical Liberators Box Limited Edition will be available for 12,680 yen, and the digital Liberator’s Edition will be available for just 80 yen less than the physical version. Pre-order bonuses include the “Another Weapon” for Marin / Sari, two costumes, and special The Caligula Effect and Monark themed attachments.

Lastly, NIS America will publish REYNATIS this fall for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
