Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 9 Review – A New Jinchūriki Arises

    Kurama has returned??

Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 9 is the beginning of a massive rollercoaster for many fans. Not only do we see the humanoid Divine Trees (Shinjus) making their attack on Konoha, but we also get a glimpse of the Ino-Shika-Cho style once again. Additionally, it seems there are new developments surrounding Boruto’s karma. With Himawari’s new development of becoming a Jinchūriki, things are spicing up in this new chapter! Without further ado, let’s review the pivotal events of chapter 9 and see where Boruto Two Blue Vortex is heading.

What Happened in Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 9?

At the beginning of the chapter, it’s really cool to see Chocho, Shikadai, and Inojin hold their own against the main Shinju. Such stunning coordination with their attacks is unsurprising, as they are the seventeenth generation of the Ino-Shika-Cho trio. They’re taking notes from their parents on how to fight, and it’s the coolest thing ever. I always wished that the rest of Boruto’s comrades had more presence in the plot in previous arcs, so it’s great to see them here. I only hope that they continue to remain important during this time skip. Also, can we appreciate how cool their clothes are? The character designs in Boruto have all just been fantastic!

However, due to Himawari carrying the Nine-Tails chakra, the Shinjus will stop at nothing to devour her. Apparently, eating her is the only way they can figure out why she has Nine-Tails. I’m not sure why this is the case, but I’m curious how they would’ve acted if they had actually run into Naruto and found out that Kurama was dead. Lastly, one of my favorite parts of this fight is when the main Shinju produces a Tailed Beast Ball with his right eye. Going to be honest: I’ve never seen a Tailed Beast Ball as awesome as that.

One of the interesting things about this chapter is how Boruto seems confused that the Divine Trees are after Himawari because of her Nine-Tails chakra. In chapter 8, it was possible that Boruto might be able to see into the future using Momoshiki’s Byakugan. This may be due to his vast knowledge of the Divine Trees and his warning towards Code on, “the worst possible future”. However, if Boruto has no idea about Himawari having Nine-Tails, then perhaps he can’t see into the future. Regardless, this is an exciting development and I wonder what Boruto will do with this information going forward.

The fight with Boruto and Kawaki was crazy to read. Boruto outclassed Kawaki so much in the battle that I’m genuinely shocked. He dodges all of Kawaki’s projectiles while walking toward him and punches him so hard that Kawaki flew away. He even got to the point of calling Kawaki “pathetic” and asked if he was even training all this time. This is crazy to witness, considering they always seemed on equal footing. However, Kawaki starts up his karma, and for some reason, it makes Boruto’s karma start up. The unusual thing is that it seems to hurt Boruto, so he evacuates immediately. According to Kawaki, Boruto might not be able to control his karma. I’m sure this is something that Kawaki can take advantage of.

    A New Jinchūriki Arises!

And now, the biggest reveal of the chapter is that Kurama rests inside Himawari. The Kurama inside her calls Ten-Tails a jerk and asks Himawari if she knows who he is. I have a lot of questions about this part. Is this a reincarnated Kurama with the same memories as the previous one? Does Kurama have a plan to deal with Ten-Tails? The Boruto chapters continue to keep us locked in!
