What Happened in Chapter 6? (Recap)

Shikamaru is facing a lot of press as the interim Hokage, with the Hidden Leaf Village higher-ups attempted to persuade him to become the Eighth Hokage already. Unsurprisingly, he backs down from fully taking the mantle. Back in the Hokage’s office, Shikamaru finally has a conversation with Ino about Amado’s revelation regarding everyone’s memories being rewritten. Although Shikamaru is having trouble accepting this, he finally acknowledges that Boruto is actually Boruto Uzumaki and not the true enemy of the Hidden Leaf Village.

Meanwhile, Kawaki and Eida discuss the Ten Tails and Code’s plan, as both characters are puzzled about the Ten Tails’ “evolution” and their hunt for Naruto Uzumaki. Annoyed by Eida’s presence, Kawaki leaves and runs into Mitsuki, and Mitsuki decides to run after Boruto in order to defend the village. Mitsuki’s Sage Mode is even stronger than before, as he’s able to enter this state without incurring major injuries and catch up with Boruto at the end of the chapter.

Sarada’s conversation with Boruto was also very notable in chapter 6, since Boruto revealed that Sasuke has been absorbed by the Ten Tails. Since Sumire, Sarada, Shikamaru, and Koji Kashin are all on Boruto’s side, he has a chance to rescue Sasuke in the future. However, stopping Code and the Ten Tails will be another challenge.
