The latest issue of Famitsu reveals Bushiroad Games and HAKAMA’s action RPG Rear Sekai will launch on October 12 for Nintendo Switch in Japan. More details about the game have been revealed in the new Famitsu issue, including gameplay mechanics and features.
As previously discussed, Rear Sekai is planned and produced by Yoshifumi Hashimoto, a notable developer who worked on the Story of Seasons, Rune Factory, and Harvest Moon franchises. The new game features illustrations by Shie Nanahara and Minako Iwasaki. Further, Tales of and Star Ocean series composer Motoi Sakuraba will be Rear Sekai’s main composer.
Rear Sekai players will enjoy a “double life” as the main protagonist where fantasy and reality are linked together according to Ryokutya2089. Dungeons full of monsters and boss battles may be found outside of the main town, and various traversal actions will be available. Characters may be strengthened by finding weapons in treasure chests in a similar fashion to other popular RPGs. The main protagonist may deepen their bonds with various partner characters in town, and romance will enhance the protagonist’s battle tactics. Eventually, the protagonist may fall in love by increasing favorability with a partner character over time. Players in Japan will experience this new title and its features on October 12 for Nintendo Switch.

RPG fans may also look forward to two new Rune Factory games currently in development at Marvelous. Rune Factory: Project Dragon is a new spinoff RPG set in fictional Japanese-inspired lands, which is referred to as the “Land of the East.” Marvelous is developing Rune Factory 6, the next mainline title in the long-running RPG series. In Rune Factory 6, players will head to the western continent of Adonea for a new adventure. These new Rune Factory games complete a “theme involving the East and West” according to Marvelous.
Lastly, Rear Sekai launches on October 12 for Nintendo Switch in Japan.
