Rune Factory: Project Dragon and Rune Factory 6 Announced

Rune Factory shifts in a new direction.

Marvelous have announced two new Rune Factory titles: Project Dragon and Rune Factory 6. These new Rune Factory titles were briefly highlighted during the Marvelous Game Showcase 2023 event. Platforms and release dates for these new games have not been revealed.

Rune Factory: Project Dragon is a new spinoff RPG set in fictional Japanese-inspired lands, which is referred to as the “Land of the East.” Project Dragon is one of two titles built around the central theme of “East and West” according to Rune Factory series director Shiro Maekawa. The new RPG is themed around the importance of dragons and Earthmates in an intertwined destiny. Additionally, the game will dive into lore and concepts that have been referenced throughout the entire Rune Factory franchise.

Marvelous also confirmed that Rune Factory 6, the next mainline title in the long-running RPG series, is in development. This new mainline title completes the theme of East and West by taking place in the western continent of Adonea. Further details were not revealed about Rune Factory 6, but Maekawa hopes fans look forward to these titles.
