SEGA has revealed concept art for the Evangelion DLC coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The DLC will add Rei Ayanami and Asuka Shikinami Langley as playable characters in January 2027.

Alongside the release of the two new characters, the DLC pack will also add Tokyo-III as a map and three new vehicles. The new vehicles are themed around the EVA-00 (Proto Type), EVA-01 (Test Type), and EVA-02 (Production Model) mechs. Check out the announcement post revealing the release date for the Evangelion DLC, alongside concept art, below:

Players who own the Digital Deluxe Edition or $29.99 Season Pass will have access to the DLC, which is also available separately for $5.99.  Bayonetta is the first free character of Year Two for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and she will come with her Butterfly Witch machine and special emotes/sounds. Alongside Bayonetta, the first two paid DLC packs for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two will center around the Godzilla and EVANGELION franchises. The Godzilla Pack will kick off Year Two on November 3, while Virtual Sanrio Puroland, SEGALAND, Persona, and Final Fantasy VII Remake Packs will also be released throughout Year Two.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Final Weapon reviewed Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and gave it a 4.5/5 score, noting that “there’s very little in the way between the player and the game’s content, making for a refreshing pick-up-and-play experience that will satisfy players of all ages and skill levels. CrossWorlds is a kart racer that deeply understands the appeal of the genre and manages to finish in first place because of that.”
