Ahead of Tokyo Game Show 2026, SEGA announced that Bayonetta will be the first free character of Year Two for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Bayonetta will arrive in Year Two with her Butterfly Witch machine and special emotes and sounds based on the series.
Alongside Bayonetta, the first two paid DLC packs for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two are centered around the Godzilla and EVANGELION franchises. More details about Year Two will be revealed at the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds World Championship Finals and Year Two Showcase livestream on October 9.
SEGA recently released the free Samba de Amigo content drop featuring Amigo as a playable character. The Samba de Amigo content drop also includes the “Amigo (Classic)” skin, the Locomotive de Amigo vehicle, and special emotes and sounds (“VAMOS A CARNAVAL” 2023 Version [Final Lap] and “Let’s find and shake it” [Jukebox Only]) to Sonic Racing CrossWorlds.
What’s more, the Avatar Pack for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds arrives this October with fan-favorite characters Aang and Katara, new vehicles, courses and Avatar-inspired music tracks, emotes, and more. Year 2 follows up at a later date with the all-new Godzilla and Evangelion Packs, and more details will be revealed later this year.
Final Weapon previously reviewed Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and gave it a 4.5/5 score, noting that “there is very little in the way between the player and the game’s content, making for a refreshing pick-up-and-play experience that will satisfy players of all ages and skill levels. CrossWorlds is a kart racer that deeply understands the appeal of the genre and manages to finish in first place because of that.”
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
