Blue Protocol Surpasses 600,000 Players in Japan During First Week

The online RPG's first major milestone.

Bandai Namco shared an update about Blue Protocol, revealing that the online RPG surpassed a total of 600,000 players in Japan. Blue Protocol managed to reach this impressive milestone in just a week after its launch on June 14.

According to the official Blue Protocol Twitter account, the total number of players exceeded 600,000 on June 21. Additionally, Blue Protocol reached a total of 200,000 concurrent players during peak hours. To commemorate the milestone, Blue Protocol players that login between now and June 28 will receive several rewards in their in-game mailbox. These rewards include Reward Tickets, Enemy Drop Rate boosting items, and special coloring dyes. Bandai Namco reminds players that maintenance is scheduled for June 28, so those logging into the game may want to redeem their rewards before maintenance starts.

The Japanese PC version of Blue Protocol is available now through the Bandai Namco Launcher application. Players in regions outside of Japan may run into some issues or face potential bans while attempting to play the Japanese version. A Blue Protocol PC closed beta will be held for the western version, but official timing for this test was not announced. Fans may sign up for the closed beta by visiting the official website.

Prior to the game’s launch, Bandai Namco encouraged fans to uninstall the Blue Protocol network test, which ran from March 31 to April 2 exclusively in Japan. The network test application may be deleted by opening the gear icon and selecting the delete button for the listed application.

In May 2023, Bandai Namco and publisher Amazon Games confirmed the global release of Blue Protocol for consoles and PC was pushed to 2024. An exact reason was not given for the delay, but further adjustments and polishing may be a potential factor.

Lastly, Blue Protocol is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2024 worldwide. The Japanese PC version launched on June 14, 2023 in Japan.
