Splatoon 3 has announced its Summer Nights Splatfest, which will take place from August 21 at 5 PM PDT to August 23 at 5 PM PDT. The Splatfest will pit players against each other based on if they would reserve a palace, theme park, or beach for a day.
The X (formerly Twitter) post announcing the event, from the official Splatoon NA account, is available here:
Splatoon 3 is the latest mainline entry in the franchise and is available now on Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo eShop describes Splatoon 3 as follows:
Enter 4-on-4 ink-slinging battles in this colorful action shooter packed with style and attitude. As a squid-like Inkling, quickly cover your surroundings (and opponents) in ink with wild weaponry and swim through your own color to sneak and splat. Dive into the fresh fun with family and friends and make waves as a team. Get splatted by an opponent? No sweat! The goal in Turf War is to cover the most ground, so respawn and jump back into the inky action.
The spin-off Splatoon Raiders released on July 23 for Nintendo Switch 2. Final Weapon reviewed the game and gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars. We described it as “the Splatoon gameplay experience perfected. While the narrative and visuals take a backseat, and there are moments where it does not feel like a Nintendo Switch 2 game, the emphasis on character work, charm, customization, satisfying combat, and replayability more than make up for these shortcomings. Even if Raiders does not recapture the magic that I felt with the very first Splatoon, if this is the foundation that future entries will build on, then Splatoon 4 is in great hands.”
