Rumor: Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X development code found via datamines in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time

The latest news comes from Canadian Guy Eh, who did some digging around in Crash Bandaicoot 4: It’s About Time’s files. Specifically, the ini. files of the game includes a built in Switch profile for development. It’s possible that its just for the use of Unreal Engine 4’s toolset but evidence points toward code being used for Switch itself. For example, “copied by Falcon” shows up in the code set and Falcon is the codename for Spyro: Reignited Trilogy. It’s possible that code from Spyro is being used as a baseline for the Switch version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. Furthermore, the code suggests that Crash Bandicoot 4 will run at 720p 30fps on the Switch with the optimization code. Lastly, code within the game suggests next-gen versions are on the way which isn’t surprising since the game was rated for Xbox Series X.

It’s not been confirmed yet for Switch so take this all with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest gaming news and updates!
